Okay, the data is undeniable, the .30-30 stays, I just need reloading dies and components
As far as the other calibers go, I took a long, hard, critical look at my collection and was displeased it was getting so scattered and disorganized
Previously, I had traded my Kimber Custom II for a Ruger Super Redhawk 7.5", but after spending time with it, found the balance point all wrong, plus, .44 mag was too similar to my established .45 Colt NMBH
I also realized I had purchased the S&W 64 just because it was cheap and I wanted a new toy, even though I don't reload or have components for .38 Spl, it too was needless clutter
I found myself missing having a 1911 in the collection, so I took the Ruger and S&W back to the store, got full return price on the Ruger and ammo, and only took a $20 loss on the S&W…
I put that store credit towards what I SHOULD have gotten in the first place, a really *NICE* 1911…
… a used but in 95% condition Sig Target 1911, with serrated front and rear straps, adjustable tritium night sights, case, and extra mag, the gun just spoke to me when I hefted it, it felt right, balanced, and overbuilt
… but this is the rifle forum, I'll talk about the new toy over in handguns, thanks for the help and info on the rifle though
Sure is nice getting the ammo stash back under control too
