Hey guys I gotta ask any 6.5 creedmoor fans on THR! I love mine I have a savage Model 10 and it is the most accurate gun I have ever owned so does anyone else own a Creed?

Yep, Im very happy with mine.
I have a Howa 1500 Lightning in a S&W 1500 wood stock.
Its not the most accurate rifle i own, but its consistent, comfortable, and delivers a significantly heavier bullet than a .243 for about the same amount of powder burned.

I bought my first Creedmoor about 6 years ago. Somehow I now have four. Yes, it's fair to say I like the cartridge.

I've been shooting a 6.5x55 in a modern action for a number of years so for me the 6.5 Creedmoor doesn't have any appeal.

It is more user friendly with very heavy for caliber bullets and with more powder capacity I can push bullets faster than with a 6.5 Creedmoor should I choose to. A drawback for some people with the Swede is it takes a long action but I've never cared about LA vs SA.

i have been shooting the 6.5x55 for over 30 years in milsurp swede army rifles and also have three .260,s, two rifles and a rem xp-100r in .260 and bough a CZ 550 in 6.5x55. what make any 6.5 caliber rifle great is the bullets. eastbank.

Yup. Big fan. Mine is just the Ruger American Predator. Only about 150 rounds through it so far. Easily sub- 1 inch at 100 with factory ammo.

The cartridge itself is fantastic. Mostly the low recoil for me. I also just love the way that cartridge looks.

I've got two, started out with a Ruger Precision Rifle a little over a year ago, I think I have around 1,100 to 1,200 rounds down the tube thus far and it's been great. I mostly picked it up to start shooting the local PRS style matches more often. I had shot a few with my .308, and was at a bit of a disadvantage trying to keep up with the 6.5mm and 6mm shooters in the often "brisk" Wyoming breeze. Anyway, I loved the light recoil good ballistics and ease of loading so I decided I needed a hunting rifle in 6.5 as well. After looking around, I picked up a Kimber Montana and have been working up loads for it. Such a light rifle is obviously a bit more difficult to print itty-bitty range groups with, but it is showing promising accuracy, carries like a dream and doesn't beat me up during a 40 - 50 Rd range session, even though it's right at 6lb scoped with one in the tube and 4 down. An excellent rifle/cartridge combo in my opinion.

I have had three Creedmoors this last year and shot them a lot. Had a Ruger American Predator that was laser accurate, a Weatherby Vanguard that shot fair and Bergara B-14 that has had me pulling my hair out. I finally found a load that it likes, but the cheap Ruger shot the best of the three. That said, I have had in the past a 260 and 6.5X55. There is not a dime's bit of difference in the performance of the three. I could be satisfied with any of them. I will stick my neck out and say that they are about as close to a perfect whitetail caliber as you will find.

Very true, max velocity in my Montana is pretty much the same as what I could coax out of my 6.5x55 700 Classic. All the guys I know shooting .260's are running more or less identical velocities as well.

Out if curiosity, what's wrong with your Bergara? Just not grouping well?

It will shoot MOA and the last trip to the range I had it down to .66 and .73 with 2 loads. The Predator was 1/2 MOA with 4 different loads and bullets when I did my part. I am loading some ELD-X to test next. All of the bullets that I tested were hunting bullets.

I ordered a couple of B-14's for friends, one Creedmoor and 7mm Rem Mag. All three are synthetic stocked and pillar bedded. My friends would shoot 1/2 MOA out of the box. They are a very nice rifles for the money.

I love my Creedmoors. I have a Savage 12LRP and a Ruger RAP. I'll also have an AR10 chambered in it as soon as I build it. Both my rifles love the 140gr AMAX factory loading.

I built one last year on a Sharps Bros. Jack 308 receiver ... 2.5" to 3" at 500 yards is easy when I do my part ... even easier when the wind is calm.
