e-bay and parts

I was looking on e-bay and noticed quite a few slides/barrels for sale. Apparantly many of the Glocks can be switched back and forth.

17/17L, 17/22 etc. Anyone know where you can find data on the ones that can be switched and what parts are necessary?

I am thinking of a 20/21 combo. Or say a 35 barrel in my 22. I like 6" barrels for shooting at targets and when in the field.

I am happy with my 17L, would like to duplicate my 40 cal but did not want to buy a new gun, just the bare necessities.:)

Maybe I should start a thread???

HQ;)

I frequently carry a Glock 26 with night sights and a Lasermax. It is light, 100% reliable and plenty accurate if I do my part, which is about everything I need in a CCW piece. I don't recommend the Lasermax, but the pistol was a gift from my dad and the laser doesn't eat anything, so it has stayed on.

My brother is an LEO, and has a Glock 27 (.40S&W) that he uses as a BUG. I've fired both the 26 and 27 side by side, and I really don't like the 27. It is much harder to control. I am far more accurate and much faster with the 26, even when loaded with high end defensive loads. I also shoot .45ACP pistols a lot, and they don't bother me one bit. For some reason, though, that little Glock in .40 is derned unpleasant.

I am feeling the same way about the 27 I recently purchased. It's a good gun for what I paid for it (used for just $299), but the reservations I had about this caliber in such a small gun are coming true. I'm thinking of trading it in on a 26 ... which will negate any money I might have saved. ;)

When all hell breaks loose(SHTF/disaster type situations), I'll grab my G17 and strap on multiple 33rd. magazines. When lots of scumbags and rioters need to be shot, my G17 will do it.Plenty fast and accurately too.:uhoh:   :D

Well, since I started 2006 without ever owning a Glock and now I have 7 in my safe...yeah, I like em a bit.

In 9mm, I have a G17 (my IDPA gun), 2 G19's and a G26. I have a couple other various cal's/models.

Totally reliable, easy to cary, easy to shoot, easy to maintain...just easy!

I will admit I dont own any big bore Glocks, but that is next!

I have a 34 and a 26. I love shooting the 34 and the 26 is what I carry 99% of the time. I have several 45s but the 26 just seems to disappear in my IWB and I don't know it is there.

I have three 2nd generation Glocks. They are models 17, 23, and 26. I shoot the 9mms the most since the ammo is cheaper and more fun to fire lots of rounds. I probably shoot the 26 the best.

Glock has had a lot of market success because they work. It is hard to find a tougher, more reliable or usable pistol at any price. Not pretty, but very functional.

I'm not a big Glock fan. They don't fit my hand well and I don't like how the trigger feels. That being said, I'll probably pick up a Glock 19 as a training gun sometime. It's the only model I've tried that felt decent in my hand and it is a very size-efficient gun. I'll probably run a 3.5# connector with a NY 1 trigger to try to make the trigger less "spongy" and more revolver-like.

Don't mean to thread highjack....but what would be a good price for a used 26? I rented one at the range last week and fell in love. Great just what I need is another 9mm.

I was, until the handgun ban in 1997,which stopped me from buying one from my local firearms dealer. However,I am a big fan of the airsoft models and will collect them, for many years to come-unless they will be banned, like their live-firing counterparts, were.

I have used one before, but it was MOD property.

Cops are armed with them though.

but what would be a good price for a used 26?

Depends on condition. The last I checked, new Glock 26's were selling for somewhere in the mid-400's to low 500's without options like night sights. For a basic 26 without night sights, therefore, I would think anything under $400 would be reasonable, depending on condition. $350 or less would be a great deal if it's in very good or better condition. It should come with at least two magazines (10 round capacity is standard). Glocks also come from the factory with a mag loading tool, brush, "tupperware" box and perhaps a few other little doohickeys, the absence of which would cause me to lower the "fair price" estimate.

I love the Glock. To me it don't matter the caliber they are all great. I have yet to find a bad Glock. My 19 is superb. I might even get a G17 just to add to the colection. They are excellent gun's and would not put my life on anyhting else because my life is worth the best. the G26 would be good at a price around 350.00 used to 550.00 new

The Glocks in 9mm are excellent handguns that I would carry regularly in a heartbeat; but the lockup on it makes it fatter than it has to be. Even the concealable models don't conceal all that well or wear all that comfortably compared to larger, slimmer pistols on the market.

I agree, especially if you carry IWB as I do. That's why I've been wanting to go to a 1911 for concealed carry for some time now. Unfortunately, the 1911's I've tried have either been too heavy (steel frame), or too unreliable (alloy frame officer's). The most important selection criterion in a CCW gun, at least in my view, is that it goes BANG when I need it to with absolute 100% certainty. As a result, I'm still carrying the Glock until I get my alloy CCO running well enough that I trust it unconditionally.

I have had my glock 19 for about a month, I like it, but i still am getting used to it, being an xd guy, it will take some time, but they are alot of fun to shoot, and not to mention that the 9mm is plenty cheap in the ammo department especially compared to the rest of the calibers. one of the main reasons i have a 9mm.

Bought a G19 this year for my CCW, and first "service-caliber" gun. Wanted factory night sights, dealer couldn't get them, so I got some contrasting Meprolights (green front dot, orange back dots).

Yet ANOTHER satisfied Glock owner.

BTW, not wanting to start a flame war, but while I'm not sure if the Glock could be called "pretty" or not, I think it comes a lot closer to pretty than the X-D pistols!

Glock 9mms, and Glcoks in general, are a love of mine. Twenty plus years after it's release, can anyone find me another pistol with as few components, as simple a takedown mechanism, as high a capacity, as light a total weight or as realiable a functioning system? For any given size or caliber, a Glock beat or match all competitors in capacity and weight. The only exception I have found is the KelTec P11, which beats the G26 handily in weight, but is also less accurate, has poorer sights and has a generally terrible trigger.

I won a G17L and a G34. both are GREAT guns. My city carry gun is a G23, G20 for the woods. I own lots of other pistols, but can find no match for the Glock in a service pistol.

I have a second gen 23 and 17, third gen 26,27 and 30. I use the 26 or 30 as my carry gun while fishing. The 23 seems to stay in the safe more and more lately. I bought the 27 on a whim. A friend, who had an FFL at the time, made me a deal i just couldn't pass up. It doesn't see much range time these days.I'm
thinking of trading it for a 19 or another 26.

I've owned several 9mm's over the years but the 17 has to be my favorite 9mm. I shoot it better than the others (except for an FEG Hi-Power i let get away), and it just seems to fit my hand better. Maybe because it doesn't have those stupid finger grooves. It's on my list of "never get rid of" guns.
