Anybody see/have Sig 1911 with custom work?

I'm finding it pretty dang tough to see a Sig 1911 that's had any SIGnificant work done. Be it dehorn/meltdown or internal smith work.

Does anybody have pics or links to some examples? I have a Sig nitron that I've been wanting to tinker with, but was hoping to at least see what one would look like with a little cosmetic work. I do enjoy my Sig looking like a Sig, but I already have the traditional Sigs doing that for me.

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I've never seen any pictures, but I have seen a couple with custom work done to them...mostly to make the early Caspian framed ones run.

What did you have in mind that you'd need to see pictures of first?

I don't know of any top tier gunsmiths who work on the SIG profiled 1911s, but many will do reliability work on them

Well, I was thinking perhaps a simple dehorn or maybe even a re-profiling of the slide to take the wide corners off the top and give it maybe a flat-top(think STI Trojan).

Or.....I can just sell it to fund the purchase of another 1911.

Well, you could sell it for the TR slide SIG 1911s, send it to Chambers etc., for a de-horn and slide top change up?

My TO TRs just got some bolt-on changes: 10-8 rear sight, custom grips, EGW Slide stop, 10-8 long flat trigger...I'll ship it off for de-horn and cerakote in a few years.

I get leery of people always wanting to see pics of other people's guns. Is it with the I-phone pics, that the viewer can see where/when the pics were taken?

Nope... no oooga booga I'm out ta getcha thing going on here. :D

I reckon I'll sell it. Pick up a Dan Wesson guardian 45 or STI Ranger. Different enough to make sense.

I've a SIG TacOps threaded barrel that I milled the slide to take an Trijicon RMR mount. Bought it to shoot suppressed, the factory sights were good, but not good enough for my old eyeballs :)

This is a functional customization, that is not expected to enhance value to anyone else.
Its one sweet shooting pistol, very smooth and quiet shooting suppressed.

I always recommend you check/purge the metadata from any photo before posting -- too many cameras are putting GPS co-oordinates in there these days.

Turn off camera location marking in your phone's settings. This is a known issue.
