anybody use red dot in 30.06 or 30.30?

was thinking of using up some red dot i have sitting here and i thought id burn it up in my 30.06 and 30.30 i would be using 150 gr. FSP in the 3030 i dont have any cast bullets so im going with a jacketed bullet, it will be for target shooting, thanks

Thanks, i seen that BUT i must have miss read it i thought it was for cast only ...

The Load is not for jacketed. Cast boolits are still easy to get, and a lot cheaper for plinking.

I've used RD for lapping rounds in the past, but it's definitely not for jacketed bullets.

I believe if one read's Harris' "The Load is 13 Grains of Red Dot" you will see that he used both cast and jacketed.

You can definitely use Red Dot with jacketed bullets, but I'd start at around 11.0 grs. in the '06 and work up. I've used Red Dot, Unique, and AA5744 with jacketed bullets in my 30-06's and a couple of 303 Enfields, but not often. My staple is cast bullets.
