I was getting me a .22 revolver memorial day, and noticed a pink Taurus TCP. I've gotten to the point that I don't care what color a gun is. If it were marked down, I would have possibly bought it and carried it. The wife has no interest in carrying anything. The funny part is it was more than the black version

Did any of you or your wives buy a pink gun that she no longer wants, and you end up carrying it?

You know, I might carry a hideous pink gun just because it would look better in court if I ever had to use it.

Now someone just needs to make a "cuddly bunny" brand of defensive ammo.

I like many guys often like a classic look or even the tactical or "evil black" look. On guns, knives etc.
Some of my favorite knives for example look pretty nasty, while being less dangerous than your typical kitchen knife.
But I often kick myself when I think about how such a thing would look before a jury. Even if no more dangerous, the sinister appearance of such items bumps of the severity of the item and actions in a court of law. Changing the impression of you before the jury, and tipping the scales slightly more against you.

So on that note, there is certainly an argument to be made for a pink gun.
However a perp is also much less likely to believe it is a real gun. Which may in fact result in the need to fire more often.
While most self defense scenarios in the US never require the firing of the weapon.
Being more likely to need to fire your weapon means you are more likely to deal with the legal and financial headache after shooting someone.

I would have so much fun defending a pink gun to a grand jury.

"Mister Packman, would you be so kind as to tell the jury why you purchased this assault pistol?"

"Because it's CUTE! Look at that thing, it's positively adorable! I mean, how could you not want one?"

:evil::neener:

Nah, they'll be so busy laughing that you can just stroll off.:neener:

I think the worst thing that could happen to a gangbanger would be to get shot by a pink gun, but not seriously. He'd never hear the end of THAT one.

All in jest.

Somebody posted an advertisement in a recent post that included a chrome, a pink, and a regular Ruger LCP. The chrome was of course the costliest.
What I was wondering was why the pink one was cheapest(by $20 if I remember correctly.) My thoughts were that they are selling it
cheaper to get more women to carry concealed by offering the pink one for less(which would be a nice gesture).....Or is it because it is the least in demand?

My wife wants to buy a J Frame just so she can put these on it. Just the other day she asked me why there weren't more options for women out there, go figure.

For the record I wouldn't carry a pink gun, but my wife sure as heck will. She really wants a purple one. She wants a lot of "Pretty" ones, at least she's not scared of them anymore.

I'd carry a pink gun if my guns were not available for whatever reason. I wouldn't buy one for myself but I'll take a pink gun over nothing any day.

I've wondered if a pink gun would make a BG pause for a second, not taking it seriously. That's not something I would count on but it has made me wonder.:scrutiny:

I talk to my mother about it and she does't want an all pink gun. Her and I agree that it could lessen the fear a BG feels. She isn't against pink grips however.

As some of you know without the success of my pink 1911 grips 2RCo would likely of went out of business about 5 years ago.

DeepSouth,

I think a gun OWB with those grips would look very classy on a lady.

I agree those grips are beautiful, girly, but still beautiful. I wouldn't carry them but I'd probably buy them for the wife if she had a gun to put them on. Don't really know how they would hold up to EDC anyway, they may be just for looks.

Here's my wife's carry peice 009-1.jpg She shoots it well and likes to carry it,so all is well imo.I think she figured that she would kill two birds with one stone,as red is her favorite color and she knows I won't be asking to "borrow" it!!lol

I personally don't care what color a gun is, but I prefer olive/desert/digital/arctic drab, black and dark/blued finishes...I don't like white, stainless, nickel, pink, etc light colors...I like to see it from a tactically advantageous point, more so, inside a dark home/warehouse/alley. If I am concealed and able to hide from the BG at low ready, I don't want the color of my gun to be the thing that gives away my position...And pink is one hell of a florescent/bright "HERE I AM" to the BG. I guess you could argue having a hunting rifle/shotgun in bright neon orange or pink, to help being visible to other hunters/people in the area, THAT is a different scenario...In that situation, I'd be glad to be trucking through the thick brush with a bright, pink Remington 700S :)

I have never really noticed any pink guns at a store or know of anyone who owns one. I bet it would go over well with all girls. Not too sure a man should carry it, but I guess if it was a good deal I would consider it.
