Does anyone here carry on the waistband during the warmer months with just a shirt over it?

I'm using a supertuck right now, but that thing is sweaty and kind of uncomfortable on bare skin. pro carry 2 (28oz unloaded)

I can also carry the LCR in a cargo pocket with a pocket holster, but I like to carry the .45acp.

p.s. I'm relatively thin. (athletically slender I like to say)

:neener:

Try wearing a sleeveless "A-line" or "wife-beater" undershirt to keep the holster off of your bare skin. That is exactly what I do when I carry with my all-Kydex Blade-Tech IWB holster in sunny Southern AZ. A T-shirt or polo shirt over the gun to conceal, and no difference in comfort(a relative term in 110+ degree weather, more like "no added discomfort").

occasionally i'll carry owb in a blackhawk serpa paddle with a buttondown covering the pistol.

i normally carry iwb, i live in georgia and it gets very hot and humid here. what i do to help with the comfort is to wear the thinnest t-shirts i can find to seperate the holster from my skin. i usually just toss another t-shirt on to cover the weapon or wear a buttondown shirt.

i always carry OWB. just get a holster that rides high enough to keep the muzzle higher than the tail of your shirt and pulls the gun in tight enough to your side to not stick out.

i usually get the Eddie Bauer "Tall" shirts for their longer length

I just got back from town where I entered 4 stores including Wally-World. My wearing apparel...Levi jeans, white T-shirt and a untucked and unbutton (snapped) western shirt over an IWB Kimber UCC II [you do have to watch the wind].

Around my property I wear it open carry...

I prefer OWB carry to IWB for comfort reasons. Either will require a cover garment or your shirt untucked so why not leave it OWB. Only time I carry IWB is if I'm carrying something with a long barrel like a 5" 1911.

On another note, I'm a big fan of wearing an undershirt(t-shirt) year round. May sound crazy but it will actually keep you cooler and keep you from sweating thru your overshirt. Plus it keeps holsters and guns off your bare skin.

Try Under Armour. Tuck it in so the holster doesn't ride against you, then wear whatever else you want.

Nope. Pocket carry with an untucked shirt to cover, as always. Same gun, same place, all the time. Might make jack a dull boy but it also makes sure the S&W is where the hand is gonna go if something happens. Old dogs, new tricks, all that stuff.

Summertime, the Duluth Trading long-tail tees come in handy...

I use a High Noon "sky high" fully lined for my Glock 36...Shorts and a large t-shirt hides it very nicely. Here in Texas no open carry, and concealed permit only.

Ofcourse, I am talking about concealed carry, lol.

Thanks for some of the tips. I shall try a wifebeater or underarmor. I like Eddie Bauer shirts as well.

That's how I carry everyday.

Just like 9mmepiphany said:

My G27 in a Don Hume holster...

That's what I do here in southwest Florida, using a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake, IWB w/ a S&W 642 Airweight. Although it's not designed for a full tuck, I find that if I tuck my shirt in all around it, and slightly blouse it at the belt, it stays concealed. The other good thing about the undershirt is that it absorbs perspiration, and keeps my shirts looking nicer.

Mainsail, I bet you get some serious looks wandering about liberal Seattle's top tourist attraction with your Glock hanging out...

^^^^
I would simply assume he must be some sort of cop :), and bet most others would assume the same.

I'm talking about concealed carry here. Open carry choice would obviously be OWB.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I could carry my 4" kimber owb without showing, but maybe mr lcr or a sp101 2".

I carry a 2" SP101 OWB beneath a tucked in shirt frequently. My holster is a Don Hume

With a T-Shirt you can occasionally see the bottom of the holster but with a Polo or a button-up shirt it works very well.

+1 on this...I wear a wife-beater and would recommend it to others.

I carry a Glock 19 OWB year-round, and that's thicker than your Kimber.

It's a matter of the right holster (pancake-style leather holsters hold the gun closest to your body), a good gunbelt, and a sufficiently loose shirt. Undershirts also help with comfort and keep perspiration off your gun.
