Anyone married to an anti?

I dated an anti for a while.

Then I convinced her to go shooting with me.

Next thing I knew I was spending more time loading her magazines than shooting.

She bought me gun stuff and beer.

Then the next thing I knew I was on one knee proposing to her.

Now I'm spending more time loading her ammo than mine. (She cleans her own guns, though...and says she is going to learn to reload...my fault I haven't taught her yet.)

Just when I start thinking I should have left her an anti, she buys me new night sights for one of my Kimbers. Then she buys me good cognac and Dunhill cigars.

I married above myself. No doubt about it.

:D :D

I was married to an anti-Second Amendment woman. When we went our separate ways several years later—amicably, I might add—she was a registered Republican and the proud owner of her own .357 magnum. The tricks were to set a good example and take her to the range. To be honest, Jimmy "Quagmire" Carter helped her connect with reality, too.

my wife

when we were first married I knew that she was anti-hunting, but not guns. I am ok with that. Now she is more accepting of guns per se, as we live in a very violent town.

She even voted Republican this past Fall....wow!

My wife is not an anti ... she's very much for the second amendment. She's just SO FREAKIN' CHEAP! (oh ... sorry, she's "thrifty  ). Her main complaint about my shooting hobby is that it costs money (and 90% of the money I've spent on guns and shooting has been done under the table without her knowledge).

Neat-o! Another female reloader here. IMO the best way to procure ammo. :)

Oh, and the thread topic: am I married to an anti?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... No. :D

My wife is Japanese. When she first came to the US I let her shoot a 22. She was petrified, having been taught from day 1 of her life that guns are bad, etc. She couldnt hit the broad side of a barn.

I convinced her to come one day up to a rural area to go shootng. My buddy had a MP5. We let her shoot that and her face just lit up. She asked him if she could shoot it again and he said sure. I showed her how to load a magazine. I then was talking to someone for a few minutes and I looked around and she was gone. I found her a few minutes later squatting in the snow (you know, that Asian girl squat) with the MP5 around her neck, a can of ammo at her feet, patiently loading mags!

Now of course she wants an MP5. "be nice husband buy machine gun"

Her proudest moment was filing out her 4473 after she got her green card so that she could get her Walther P99. She likes it because it is "cutie" and green. She wants a suppressor also.

She really hates hunting. I was deboning caribou quarters in the kitchen this year and she was like to kill me.."Disgusting gaijin why you kill cutie reindeer, I call PETA"...doesnt stop her form eating it thopugh....

My wife's been pro-gun ever since her daddy brought his shotgun to our wedding. ;)

That's a joke son.

I would say mine is anti, only that she doesn't see the need for them (damn city girl) and of course is biased because of all the bad publicity shown on TV. However she DOESN"T try to interfere with my obsessive behavior. :D

I always brought the subject up on the first date. If a woman was anti gun there was no second date.

My wife was not anti when I met her, but had never touched a gun. Her mother was afraid of them and told me she thought they could fire by themselves and kill somebody!

I took the girl shooting and she liked it. I told her anyone involved in my life would also be involved with guns. I never got her mother to shoot, but she got real comfortable around guns. When I brought her daughter home from a shooting date I would clean the guns on her kitchen table. Her mother would handle the guns and ask questions, but wouldn't go out and shoot with us. Now I have a wife that likes to shoot and doesn't mind when I buy another gun. She has a CCW and her own carry gun.

There is a drawback, however. All she does is shoot the guns. I have to load all the ammo AND clean her guns!

Wildalaska...you owe me beer...

'cuz as I was ROFLMAO, Mrs. echo3mike comes in, reads the thread, and realizes that I'm going to be posting something about her royal anti-ness...

oh...well...almost worth it. Kinda reminds me of the joke about the guy whose sitting in front of a TV, and asks his wife to bring him a beer before it starts...which she does. Few minutes later, he asks her again to get him a beer before it starts....again she does. Few more minutes pass, he asks her again to get him a beer before it starts...so she gets going with the "I'm in the kitchen working my butt off trying to cook and clean for you and all you want to do is sit here and watch TV...what's going through your mind???"...to which he replies "see, it's started"...:D

WAS married to an anti, but that was many years ago.

Still haven't been able to figure her out. We both worked in a Missile Security Squadron, so she toted an M-16 around all day. But heaven forbid that there are any firearms allowed in the house. Needless to say, she's gone, and the Sig and Mini-14 are still here. Not to mention the many new additions to 'the family'. :D

Here's at ya' Jacqui :neener:

My ex-wife was anti.

But she fought mighty hard to get half of my collection on our divorce. And continues to shoot at the local range. Wish I knew which days, so I wouldn't keep bumping into her up there...

New wife showing promise. Just can't take her to the abovementioned range, dunno when ex-wife will show up!:uhoh:

after 16 yrs, the first wife said something like "guns or me". i'll let you guess the outcome of that .

current woman: first date, steaks, etc. second date, on a creekbank with the guns. she had never shot. shot the Smith 41, wanted it. shot the Python with .38, then .357 - wanted it. then the 29 with .44 spec then 44 mag. wanted it. shot the .44 SBH with earthquake loads. did not want that one.

that was 23 yrs ago. now she has her own 44 SBH and more guns than i. keeps taking my new purchases. does her own reloading, cleaning, etc. and, yup, buys a lot of guns on her own with HER money.

could hardly wait for CCW to go into effect in Arkansas.

kind of a "guns and me" girl. and, she is plumb purty.

When I was a young man, and had brought my girlfriend over to the house, my dad walked through the room with a beautiful Winchester National Match grade WW1 vintage rifle, on his way to the garage. As he passed by my girlfriend, she made some comment that he should get that damned gun away from her ...

After the "Please come to the garage with me" request from my dad, I learned his views on his freedom to perform actions in his own house, and my responsibilities to educate my girlfriend about the same ... or feel free to not bring her around anymore ...

Okay ... fast forward a few months ... and being told by the same girlfriend that she didn't like the martial arts and guns, as they were both "violent", and didn't like my interest and involvement in both ...

Being young and somewhat foolish ... not to metnion stubborn ... by reaction was essentially that I'd been involved with the arts and guns longer than I'd been involved with her, and that it was too bad she felt that way ... more, or less ...

Okay, fast forward another year ... and after meeting each other again after a year's absence, we ended up married in something like less than 3 months. Don't ask me to explain, because I don't have an answer. However, we've been married for 29 years now ... and I'm still involved in the arts and firearms ... She just isn't a fan of firearms, but realizes they're part of my life, both personally, and also professionally for the last 21 years ...

I actually got her to shoot once after we were first married, but that was it. About a year ago, though, she became interested in the arts, and has proven to be an excellent student, even if she came to it a little later than most ...

I have absolutely no idea what any of this means in the grand scheme of things ... ;)
