I ordered some primers and powder from Cabelas about a week ago. Scheduled shipment date is May 53rd. Anyone else order lately from them, are the dates they estimate about right?

I had several orders from Cabelas backordered. I usually received them earlier than expected. But ...that was before the ammo crunch was in full swing.

you will probably be lucky to get them earlier than expected. I would guess that you would get them a little later then you are supposed to with things being the way they are right now. I ordered more primers and stuff from Powder valley, which usually always gets their stuff out earlier than expected and they have not shipped yet either. I knew when I ordered that it was going to take a little time but has been about a month now. They told me they have stuff trickling in all the time right now but no big orders all at once. Good luck to you on primers right now though, very hard to get in at present time. Just give them a little while and you will be ok.

I ordered primers from Cabelas on April 16th -- they claimed 1-2 week backorder. I then got an email that they were expected in on April 28th.

I got another email on Friday telling me the expected arrival date is May 25th!! :cuss:

Sorry, but it don't look good to get your stuff on time.

I'm on BO with Cabela's for primers too. They accept BO's, don't charge the CC until shipped, so when I get them, I get them. Then I will place another order.

I buy a lot from Cabelas - both reloading and fishing gear. I find that their backorder dates are usually off in either direction. I have rarely found them to be close to the actual date.

Do they ship powder and primers together and can you request and will they ship all of them at the same time to avoid multiple hazmat charge?

I had stuff backordered and eventually got it...except for my LNL #45 shell plate...it was backordered and backordered, and I FINALLY got the ol' "sorry, we've cancelled the order since we can't get the damn thing" email. Otherwise, however, they seem fine.

I ordered 3K sp primers on 4/19. Just checked order status and they are now saying 2-3 week shipping date. That's the same thing they were saying when I placed the order. Fortunately, I don't need them at the moment but hopefully they will arrive just as I seat the last one that I have now.

i am on backorder for cabelas for 600 rounds of 9mm and 1 box of 45acp. talk about taking advantage of the shortage...cabelas bulk 9mm still comes out to 27 bucks or so for 100 9mm (I remember paying 20 a box back b/f the election) and 45acp (which i paid 30 for b/f the election) is now i think around 40.99. Also, i went to my local cabelas in hazelwood, mo and they have remington 2 1/2, 6 1/2, and 7 1/2 primers in stock. The catch is you can only buy 500 of any one type. this means instead of paying 33.99 for the box of 1000, you are paying 4.99 for a packet, which adds up to 49.99 a box, a 15 dollar increase. I'm not sure if the purpose is to distribute primers to all or just to maximize profits. I guess either way, this is still better than not having primers...and deffinatley better than buying them off gunbroker.

I guess I am one of the lucky few. My order for primers was ahead of schedule, middle of May. And my powder order was delivered today, not the 11th so I can't complain. Good luck to everyone else.:banghead:

I have alot (well not really that much)of primers and powder on backorder with Cabelas. The powder has been shipping on time and earlier than expected, but all of my primers are still on backorder. They have not gone past the expected delivery date yet. I expect that they will though, we will see. All of the following were ordered on 4/16/2009. Benchmark shipped 5/08/09, H4895 & IMR 4064 Shipped 4/22/09 and H335 4/28/09. Still have CCI and Federal LR,SR,LP,LPM,SP,SPM primers and about 8 or so pounds of assorted powders still on back order. I also have 1000 of CCI #41's and 1000 #34's on order but no news on those. (different company)

My primers were "expected in" yesterday---uh huh.

Update: I just got a new email today saying the primers were now expected in June-teenth.

Order large pistol primers back in April. Said 1 to 2 weeks delivery when I ordered. I called today and they informed me the new expected date for primer shipment is June 20th. I sure hope that doesn't slip when June gets here. This is getting out of control.
