No I'm not happy to see you that's my Glock 34 in my pants.

Here are some pics i just took to show how it looks. I brings the one side down some and prints, but no ones going to know its a gun.
I have been less and less careful about my gun printing. No one has ever known I carry.

Actually my cargo shorts have a drawstring. It's not much, but it can handle a heavier gun with a paddle holster.

I pocket carry mine sometimes.

I use a MIC holster, then just slip it in my back pocket pull my shirt down over the butt. (barely any sticks out)

Go to walmart or around town like that all the time.

If you are one who has adapted your lifestyle to accommodate your CCW needs, then you can do it no problem.

If one is going to shift his or her whole wardrobe around why would he or she do it to accommodate pocket carry and not either IWB or OWB belt carry

Too heavy for most of my pants, but it's easy to carry around in an inside-the-waistband holster.

So we are wearing a gunbelt so that we don't have to carry the gun on our belt.

Makes perfect sense!

Of course. The purpose of a gun belt is to support the weight of a pistol without allowing the belt line to sag, the pistol to shift anywhere and everywhere, and to conceal the fact that you are carrying. When you carry a pistol, you DO have specialty items that you use to do it, right? If you're insisting on using Wal-Mart belts, a folded piece of corrugate for a holster, and the cheapest buy one, get one pants you can find, then you're headed for problems.

Adjusting a wardrobe is a fact of life for CCW. The only other option is buying that Seecamp that fits anywhere and then coming back here to complain about the ballistics, ammo prices, two-finger hold, short intolerable range sessions and minute of car door accuracy at 15 yards. But, to answer your question more concisely, many, many people here in Florida choose pocket carry for 10 months out of the year because it is hot as hell and button-down shirts (or other cover garments) are not an option at all. This thread is about pocket carrying a G26 right? I guess some of you folks don't agree with how to do it, but as someone who's been doing it successfully for 7 years (going on 8), I think I have some idea what I'm talking about.

Like I said, I'm looking for something to pocket carry for those times I don't want to bother with IWB. "I'd carry IWB" doesn't help that situation.

It gets to tripple digit temperature regularly where I live. I can carry either my G26 or G19 (and other similar sized guns) IWB with just a T shirt. Good holsters do wonders. My point is simply that any clothing I own that would accomidate a G26 in the pocket would most likely make it easy enough to carry in another (and IMHO superior) way.

If you think the LCP has a lot of recoil, I'd suggest strengthening your grip and doing a lot more practice before buying another gun. Throwing money at a problem isn't always the best solution and a gigantic double-stack combat pistol shoved in your pocket isn't going to fix it. Just my opinion.

I see people on a regular basis who clearly believe that a T-shirt is a good enough cover garment for IWB carry. I guess they don't realize the people staring at them or the comments such as "Is that guy carrying a gun?" and "I guess THAT guy is carrying today."

On top of that, with the G26 the short grip makes drawing from IWB much more of a challenge. Once you start adding grip extensions or a G19 mag (with or without spacer) then you would have been better off holstering a larger pistol that day.

Again, from my own personal experience in carrying the G26 in a pocket, it requires large pockets, a good, solid belt, and a pocket holster that will hold up to the abuse and remain inside the pocket when the gun is drawn.

I guess to sum up this thread -
A. You can pocket carry anything with big Enough pockets and a decent belt
B. The G26 wasn't designed for pocket carry
C. What works for someone else may not work for you
And finally - there are plenty of sweet 9mm out there that fit easily in a pocket. See (cm9, pf9, lc9 etc...) I recently purchased the cm9 for pocket cc and haven't looked back.

Ledgehammer, those 9mm single stacks still have 2 of the 3 problems I mentioned in my OP.

Sulaco, it wasn't just the recoil I was concerned with. It was also the ammo capacity and wanting to upgrade to 9mm. Something tells me that strengthening my grip won't magically double the magazine capacity.

Well really the cm9 is pretty soft to shoot. As far as capacity is concerned if you want double digits either carry a spare mag or iwb carry a double stack. You can't really have everything. The G26 is a great gun but wasn't really designed for pocket - ymmv

As of yesterday I've decided to give front pocket carrying a G26 a chance. I normally wear cargo pants so that is no problem. I'm going to give it a month. The biggest thing I noticed is it really sucks for access while driving.

Might as well put a CZ 2075 RAMI in your pocket. :neener: In other words, it wouldn't be my first choice for a pocket pistol. Come to think of it, it wouldn't be a choice at all. :D

It caused a bulge in my pants, I didnt want people stareing at it. Cargo pants might work, but its better in a holster.

My Smith 6946 is near the size of a G26 and while I have pocket carried it. I find that even the pants I have that it fits in, it compramizes my draw signifigantly. I more often pocket carry a PM9 or a snub for this reason. Besides the only time I pocket carry is the days I'm sure I'm not gonna need a gun. If I go someplace I think I might need one, I bring two.

Like Mavracer said, while the G26 may "fit" the pocket, you need to keep in mind the ability to rapidly get a combat grip and draw the pistol in a high-stress situation.

With the pants in my size the problem isn't the volume of the pocket, but rather how wide the opening is. Often big pistols like the G26 get stuck on the draw throwing off my rhythm. IMO a cm9 is much better suited for pocket carry because the small difference in thickness makes it quite a bit easier to draw.

Can it be done? Yes. Should you do it? Mayby, You just have to try it for yourself
I pocket carry a G27 ( same size as G26 ) in a Galco pocket holster. Being a big guy, that works for me. It is on the heavy side. If I want to wear sweats and carry I usually go with a bersa ppk. I was checking out a new gun shop and was absolutly amazed at how tiny the new crop of pocket nines and especially .380s are. I am thinking of doing the opposite and downszing to a LCP or one of the tiny taurus 380s. If I feel the need for serious firepower on my person then its a G22 OWB or fanny pack

I have carried a glock 27 in a desantis pocket holster in cargo pants/shorts in my right front pocket. I currently carry my glock 36 the same way,the trick is to have the right size pockets it is doable.

For me I've practiced drawing (gun unloaded of corse) and the draw is quite fast indeed. Again make sure the pockets can fit the gun and your hand,it's like any other type of carry you have to dress for it. I also second the fun belt recommendation it will help greatly.
