the expedited process is definitely faster, but i didn't know about it when i sent in my packet the old school way. took just over 2 months though, so it was still quicker than i thought it would be.
Hey, give them a call! They have an 800 number, and are ready and willing to answer all questions. Really nice people.
Big Mike, would it help at all to have prints live scanned after I've already sent in packet with paper prints? If you are near Florida and timing is a concern, come here and get your prints electronically "livescanned". It's the FBI ink print cards that add the greatest amount of processing time.

I sent my DD214 and did my prints electronically...maybe that helped?
Ok, wait for THIS baby.....
Check dated and mailed 9/2. Regular way with electronic fingerprints.
Got my CC YESTAERDAY, 9/28! That's right! 2 days shy of 4 weeks, with a Labour
Day holiday thrown in there!
Sadly, my daughter's WAS in the same envelope. She didn't get hers yesterday. Hopefully, today?!
I did exactly that. I highly recommend it. There are six regional offices, and you need an appointment. They don't take cash, and you need your D/L for identification and your certificate (or copy) of your class completion. I went in the Tampa office, the girls couldn't have been nicer. I sat at a computer terminal and filled out the form, they notarized it. They took my prints electronically, they did my photo electronically, and I was out the door in 28 minutes. This is a new application...Florida just started up a new "expedited system" in which instead of mailing a packet off to Tallahassee....you visit a regional office where you fill the application on a computer (instead of a bubble in sheet), enter your fingerprints electronically, pay the same $117 and get the license MUCH faster.
