Bruenor,

Just being curious, what gun show were you at that had an Appleseed booth?

The article in Small Arms review is in the July issue, not the June issue. The July issue is on the stands now.

hawkhavn,

I was at the Indianapolis 1500 Gun and Knife show on May 30. He was handing out fliers and talking about Appleseed to anyone who came by.

The flier shows events in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee over the next couple of months. There's an event in Wabash, IN on Oct 18-19 that I'm thinking about going to.

Bruenor,

If that was Friday, it would have been me. We had a good team for this 1500 and no one had to invest their entire weekend there. (Since we're all volunteers and the expenses come out of pocket that is a good thing)

We are at Wabash next weekend as well, looks like a goodly bunch of folks have signed up already.

Any questions, give me a holler.

hawkhavn,

Wow, I met a fellow member of THR and didn't even know it.

I can't make the Wabash event next weekend, and for most of the summer I'm going to be pretty busy with projects, so that's why I'm aiming for October. Maybe I'll see you there.

Bruenor,

Count on it! We'll also be at the AUG 1500 again with a table.

All,

We have back to back Appleseeds this month! Wabash up north next weekend and Evansville down south on the 21-22. Get pre-registered and save some cash, come out for a great time with a great project!

Just found out that there a couple of Appleseeds in New Mexico this year. WOO HOO!

FWIW, I've joined the RWVA and let the NM coordinator know who I am and that I can help. :D

SMLE,

Thanks for coming on board! I know the coordinator will appreciate any help they can get. The Appleseed program is growing so quickly there are always more things to get done than folks to do them. But that is always the way things are when it is all volunteer.

Hey Bruenor,

I went to an Appleseed sporting an M44 carbine. I definitely raised eyebrows from my muzzle blast! Fred told me that it was better to shoot an LTR before a full out MBR. But I like to live dangerously so I followed my instinct and bought an M44 and tons of ammo for the occasion. I had a lot of fun (and a sore shoulder), but the way I see it is, if you can manipulate the bolt, resume NPOA, and hit the target, a semi-auto is downhill from there.
I have since purchased a PTR 91 and am loving the world of semi-auto MBRs!

So where's a good source foe a USGI type sling? Seems they're sold out on the Appleseed site - I'm trying to put together a 10/22 for this very purpose.
