I was wondering if anyone our there has any experience in an AR-10 BYOG I'm looking into.:scrutiny:

Who's uppers fit who's lowers?

Are there any major incompatibilities between the disparate makers?

Are there any piston conversion kits for the AR-10/7.62 NATO platform?

Thanks!!

It's not 100% true, but its safest with AR-10 configurations to keep the upper and lower the same brand. The style is pretty much proprietary although there is some interchangeability. Somebody more knowledgeable can chime in with that.

Well the AR-10 is only ArmaLite but I'm sure you're using the term more generically. I'd also agree it's safer if the upper and lower are the same brand.

Thank you both for the input. Yes, I was using the term generically, suppose I should have been more specific about that...

I'm coming to the same conclusion as far as whether of not uppers and lowers are interchangeable... Very disappointing.

I'd like to hear from anyone else on this, and if anybody has any experience with the AR style 7.62 platforms, building/maintaining them.

I've been coveting a POF-USA P-308-20 for quite some time now, and I just can't afford that level of fiscal commitment...:banghead:

Figured this was my next best option.
