AR15 uppers available in any of these calibers?

This is a partial list of calibers legal for deer hunting in Ohio. I did not include the complete list because some are obviously too long (think .45/70 and .50/100 types). I tried to look it up online, but there are so many calibers available that it's hard to sort through the noise to get the signal.

Most every caliber you listed is a rimmed revolver caliber, except for the .45 ACP.

Rimmed revolver cases and box magazine semi- autos in general, don't play well together.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree.

If hunting regs restrict you to those calibers, look at a single-shot rifle, or a bolt or lever-action.

I haven't seen any in those chamberings. The rimmed cartridges present problems with the AR15 design. Your best option might be a lever action in one of those legal cartridges.

That's what I was thinking, but figured I'd ask. While there are several capable deer appropriate calibers available in straight wall configuration, our game laws specify a list of legal cartridges, rather than any straight wall.

Bazooka Bros and Olympic Arms both offer .45 ACP uppers and mags.

You might be able to put something together with a 45 Win Mag in an AR15. Magazines and feeding would be the hardest part to figure out but the rest of the components are available.

Obviously .45 ACP uppers and rifles exist. There are some .44 Mag AR's out there in the world, but not many. I've heard internet rumors of .45 Win Mag Ar's being made as well.

How bad do you want one? I imagine .44 or .357 is probably the easiest to make. Adapt a Desert eagle mag to the mag well, and get a barrel reamed. Some work on, or a custom bolt would probably be needed. I have no idea if the cartridges are suitable, but a blowback PCC AR isn't rocket science. If you have to lock the breech it gets more difficult.

When I first read our "legal" list last year, it became obvious that ODNR did not want ARs of any caliber used during firearm season.

I was all set to get a .45 or .50 straight walled upper, but, nope....

I use a .358 WSSM AR for deer here in Indiana. But, I think your best bet in Ohio is gonna be a Ruger semi auto in .44 mag.
