WTH!

My newly purchased SLR-107FR was shooting way to the left - the widespread front sight base cant problem - so I sent the rifle in for repair at my expense. I received my rifle back from Arsenal today. When I inspected the repair job I was a bit shocked to see that they mangled the front sight tower with what must have been a wrench and then touched up the exposed metal with touch up paint.

On top of that they sent it back with an AK-74 muzzle brake installed and not the Bulgarian flashhider that it came with!

I am calling Arsenal tomorrow. This is unacceptable for a new $900 rifle.

What is up with them? They can't install a FSB correctly! Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for a $900 AK...they must have hired Century's drunken monkeys...and they didn't fix it correctly, plus took your flashhider...

Even Century can install the FSBs correctly...

Trying to bend the FSB instead of repinning it is a hack repair. You are right in complaining.

I can't believe the extent to which we're seeing Arsenal step on it lately, did they just get overconfident and decide that their logo could sell anything they shipped out?

That sucks, wish they could get their act together. Making saigas look like a better deal every day.

As long as people are silly enough to keep buying them, and spend their own money sending them back to get fixed, they'll keep doing it.

Darn, I was impressed with what some have said about them and was very intrested in purchasing one.... till now....

They have to press the plunger to move the front site side to side, I had to do this to a AK build, and it messed up the finish when I did it.
Luckly it was before I refinished the thing. ;)

See if they are willing to refinish the thing, from what I have seen they use a spray on finish as it is.

What are you talking about? There are gouges in the metal of the front sight base. Tell you what, please send me $900 and I will send you this rifle since this is such a minor issue.

I think its like most company's..mistakes happen and a call should rectify it.I personally think being level headed about this would get a decent response, and if not you could 'sue them'.

Honestly, this is the first I have ever heard of such a thing with Arsenal...I do know they will do all they can to correct a probem as such, just give em a ring!

Honestly the damage is cosmetic and not really a big deal. The real blow is you bought a new rifle that was defective and sent it back on your dime to get it back with a different muzzle device and cosmetic damage. That is unreasonably bad customer service on their own product they sent out and sold at a premium. I don't think the guns that bad but proper business edicut was not followed on their own screwup.:fire:
I have an SLR-106fr and love the gun and don't have any issues with it at all. I must say though I was worried about front sight cant but I guess I dodged that bullet.

Agreed. If a company is gonna charge $900 for an AK clone, it better be 100% correct/functional out of the box, and if it isnt, THEY need to pay to have it shipped so they can fix it, and fix it right, and return in it mint condition,IMHO.

I definently agree with the posters indicating that the premium price tag on these rifles leads to the expectation of quality customer service. When your product is priced $300 over the competition you'd better show me why.

No way, it sounds like its screwed up, the higest I'll go is $450! (Cash)

Update: I contacted Arsenal and they want me to send it back to them. They are sending me a call tag and are paying for shipping this time around. I basically told them that I don't anything that's been touched by their repair shop and have asked for a) a new rifle or b) my money back. I am concerned that, with how far off the rifle was, there is something major wrong with the rifle. I am also concerned that they did damage to the rifle when they "repaired" - it looks as though the front sight was not even removed and someone simply tried to bend the front sight straight with a wrench or vise.

I will provide an update with the outcome when all this shakes out.

My "new" SLR 106FR broke (firing pin retainer walked out, mangling the contents) about a year ago. I gave it to the dealer from whom I had purchased it, so that he could ship it. I paid not a cent for it's trip to and from ARSENAL.

They ended up replacing my entire "bolt head" assembly, though the only parts that really needed to be replaced were the firing pin (bent), firing pin spring (utterly mangled), and the firing pin retainer (mia).

It was highly irritating, considering the cost of the SLR 106FR. However, I love the gun and it's the nicest-looking, best-shooting AK that I've ever come across or owned.
