At my bedside?

Stack On 10 gun safe

It's bolted down by the head of my bed. When I'm sleeping it's unlocked for quick retrieval of either a 12 ga. shot gun - 22 - 380 - or 9mm pistols. (I hope to be adding a 45 Rock Island soon).

On the floor by my head is a regular size flashlight. My cell phone is on the dresser at the foot of the bed but the wife has hers by her head. If anything would happen she would be dialing while I'm addressing the situation at hand.

Also my son has a 40 S&W M&P in his room and he will be mounting the pistol safe we gave him for Christmas in his closet by his head. His is operated by a push button (battery operated) lock or with a key (if the battery would die).
 
In the drawer of my night stand sits flash light, 1 extra mag, G-23 and cell phone ALWAYS.

ditto except I keep my CZ-75 and its extra mag in the top drawer of nightstand and my XD9SC is in the bottom drawer for my wife.

My flashlight has two "on" buttons. One turns on the red LED's only and the other turns on the white only. It is powerful enough to blind easily if shined directly into the eyes.

I have a kydex holster mounted to a flat board which sits between the mattress and box spring. I keep a spare mag on the nightstand. This setup keeps my USP 40 readily at hand, and it is covered by the blankets. It goes in the safe every morning in exchange for my every day carry Kel-Tec P11.
 
Glock G33 with 1 in chamber in nightstand on my side of bed, Colt Detective 38 Special in nightstand on her side of bed.
 
I have kids in the house so I keep my .45 in a Gunvault Bio next to the bed. I like the biometric...kids can find a key or learn a code...they can't duplicate my finger.

I engage the lock on my S&W revolver, the key is under my mattress. I have a trigger lock on it as well with the key hidden in the hallway closet. The bullets are locked in a safe in the basement, I forgot the code but I think it is written on the last page of my phone book that I keep in the kitchen.

Both my kids shoot better than me nowadays so I've become a bit more lenient in where, and how, I leave my firearms.

I've got a set of twin HKs protecting our household: one upstairs (where I frequently fall asleep watching a game) and one downstairs in the nightstand next to the bed.
Equipment includes (2) HK USP45 Tacticals with spare 12-round mags. Both include night sights, M2 UTLs, and flash surpressors with serrated edges. Cell phone is always close at hand with spare Surefires on both sides of the bed.

Thinking about one of those Coach Gun 12 gauges to mount over the bedroom door. I know they only have two shots, and don't have the distinctive "racking" noise, but they sure look cool.

Sadly, that sounds like my father-in-law. He's got a 38 special...the bulk of the gun is in the night stand drawer; however, the cylinder & ejector/crane assembly are in the bedroom closet & the ammo is in the guest bedroom.

Smart-ass comment completely unnecessary on my part...it pretty much speaks for itself.
 
Remington 870 3" magnum with 20" barrel. Loaded with five rounds of 000 buckshot. Did the math on this round...Each pellet hits with about the same ballistic force as a 158 grain round nose bullet out of a .38 special. In my nightstand Springfield XD in .40 S&W with 180 grain Hydro-shock bullets. Pistol is equipped with Stream light. In my wife's nightstand: S&W 638 & 125 grain Silver Tips. Both cell phones are kept on our respective nightstands as is a S&W LED flashlight

Whichever Semi-Auto is doing HD duty for the Night is on My Night Stand, in a Holster-Full Mag-One in the Chamber. I have a Spare gun in the Shelf underneath-Same thing- Holstered-Full Mag- One in the Chamber. I like the Spare Gun Idea Instead of a Spare Mag. Phones and Flashlights on both sides of the bed. Wife has a SW-MP 9mm on her night stand. Holstered-Full Mag-One in the Chamber. She Also has Ruger 3 Inch .357 Revolver as Her back-up weapon. [loaded with .38 +P's] She can Shoot Quite Well. Which puts Me in the Bonus Round with Two shooters. I also have to count My German Shepherd as part of the set-up, because She is the Best Damn Alert Dog I have ever Had:) I rotate Guns on My Side of the Bed. I Have a SW-MP .45, a SW-MP .40, a Springfield XD-M 9mm [The New one with the 19 Round Mags-Match Grade Barrel, etc.-Nice Gun!] I also Still Keep My Taurus 24/7 .45 and Springfield XD .45 in the Rotation, because They have Proven to be Extremely Reliable. On any Given Night with the Four guns that we will have Ready to use, we will have a total 55-59 Rounds of live Ammo ready to Shoot without using Spare Mag's:evil:

My $5.00 38spl RG is next to the bed and the 12 g Mossberg Persuader is in the closet. And I pray everynight that I will never need to use them !!

I keep two guns on my nightstand. One is my USPc.40, loaded, decocked, with the safety on. The other is a Glock 19, not chambered, but with a full magazine.

Gold Dot JHP are used for both guns. 180gr for the .40 and 124gr for the 9mm.

My cell phone, eye glasses, tv and xbox remote, and a few magazines to read as well (Maxim and handgun magazines:)) Basically, everything I could ask for to put a smile on my face when I wake up! The good life, I suppose!
 
When there were kids in the house, my X's revolver had a combination lock through the frame so the loaded cylinder couldn't be closed until the lock was opened. My .45 was between mattress and box spring on my side.

Now that there are no curious little ones in the house, XD .45 on the floor between the clock radio and the bed, chamber empty. Remington 870 under the other side with alternating double aught and slugs.
 
We just adopted a 17 month old last month so the XD had to go from the bedside table to a Gunvault on the floor. Not the biometric type..the old type. I would like to get something that is quicker to open though.

I'm kind of surprised at the overall lack of shotguns in comparison with handguns. I guess I'm a bit off, I keep an AK in 7.62 ready to rock next to the bed (safety off, empty chamber) and sometimes a 92FS in the nightstand.
 
I keep pepper spray, flashlight, and either a Glock 34 or Springfield 1911 in a hidden drawer bedside. I also keep a Mossberg 590 under the bed.

I don't secure them since we rarely have visitors and we don't have kids. I've been looking at getting a GunVault biometric pistol safe as soon as money allows.
 
For those of you that keep a firearm close, whilst you sleep, how do you keep in secured? Also, what else do you keep bedside ie. flashlight, phone, etc.

On the nightstand- whatever gun I carried that day and a 4 cell Maglite style flashlight.
At bedside- Two big dogs.

I don't keep any of them secured, gun or dogs. They are all useless to me if they aren't at the ready at all times.
 
Flashlight and old unused cell phone (fully charged/tuned off) in top drawer.
Next drawer down has .357 magnum loaded up in a zip pouch.
Below bed is 9mm w/full mag, XD45 loaded full, shotgun waiting to be fed, and a couple rifles.
Wife's side also has flashlight and old cell phone.

P.S.
Unused/deactivated cell phones will still connect to 911 if you dial it. Charge the battery and turn off the phone, should keep charge for over a year. Just in case the BTK cuts the phone lines.
 
Dogs patrol downstairs. Custom alarm system in stairwell. XD45 on my nightstand. Cell phone and Glock 19 on wifes side. Sleep like a LOG
Before leaving for work, conceal firearm of choice..secure the rest in the safe and out the door we go!!
 
I use to keep whatever I was carrying that day in my night stand, now I have a holster mounted on the bed frame that I keep it in. and in the night stand I have an extra mag and light.

Whatever is on my belt goes on the dresser top, typically M&P9 or G19. Also on top of the dresser is an extra magazine, two flashlights (L4 for lots of light, L1 for a little light), home phone and cell phone. Oh there is also a small lamp and clock on the dresser and a 12 gauge shotgun mounted to the wall.
 
I wear a gunbelt to bed. That's all I wear to bed.




lol. I'm totally kidding. I keep it next to my bed or under my pillow depending on if my girlfriend is staying over. She wouldn't like it under the pillow, but I prefer it that way.
 
I have 1 .357 mag Rossi (my side) 1 .38 Rossi (her side). Both of them are snubs (2" barrel). I also have an 12gauge under the bed loaded with #4 buck and a .380 that is usually fairly close at hand being my always gun.

I have an uncle mike's holster strapped to an uncle mike's duty belt with amo dump pouch and a flash light. If something goes bump in the night, I strap the duty belt over my PJ's...

In light of EXPVIDEO's Remark, I thought it wise to say I am serious about the duty belt. I believe in having a holster so that you can holster the weapon without putting it down and getting caught without it or something. The duty belt happens to make it fast to strap on... Also their are plenty of pouches for that kind of belt that gives you access to things like lights / cell phone or whathaveyou.
