I *KNOW* it's an old thread
However, these are the recent developments....
Hubster and I were at the Taco Cabana near our church one night after Liturgy. The too-small-lettering 30.06 sign was posted OVER THE DOOR between the kitchen and the register area!!!! No sign at all on the front doors. So we called the number on the sign. As of now, we have talked to the public relations person for the corporation that owns Taco Cabana and the franchise holder for the Houston, Texas area. He stated that he *had* to have those signs because he is required to, since they sell liquor! Hubster told him he was wrong, and he said, "Sir I am a retired police officer, I KNOW THE LAW!" Hubster politely allowed as to how gee, the law must have changed since you retired because you have it wrong.
The franchise owner vowed to ensure that all entry doors on "his" Taco Cabanas would be posted properly at once. At this point, the two I have gone to (the one down off Beltway 8 north of Hammerly, and the one in Spring on I-45) do indeed now have the doorways posted. Mind you, they are posted with the right wording but too-small print. However, as hubster pointed out, we have now been given verbal notice by an official of the corporation that that they do indeed not want us in their businesses carrying firearms. And verbal notice counts just as much as a proper 30.06, so that's that.
We'd love to see a real boycott of Taco Cabana but from the noses in the air on here about their food, sounds like nobody eats there anyway We have, because during fasting seasons in the Orthodox Church, their black bean tacos were vegan and therefore okay on our list of foods we could eat. I'll miss those.
