Ok, hypothetical question, but maybe not:
Let's say I have some disposable income, no limit, and I want to buy an automatic loading press. Not concerned about rds/hr rate, I just want to load it up with brass, bullets, powder, primers, and not have to be sitting there pulling a lever. What should I get?

Buy loaded Ammo! lol

http://www.camdexloader.com/

I know at least one shop with these….

That one looks very promising.
You've heard that expression "asking for a friend"?
It's literally true in this case. I have a friend who does a lot of shooting and hosts friends over to shoot quite often, but he is not physically able to set at a press and pull a handle for very long at a time. He's asked me to look into some kind of automated press. It doesn't have to be fast, doesn't have to trim cases, and doesn't absolutely have to prime the cases, but it would be nice.
Thanks for the replies!
If any other options come to mind, please add them here!

Just remember, the more automated…the more it has to be dialed in…compare a single stage to a progressive….

Another thought…in lieu of buying a machine, look for contract reloaders / manufacturers. You can get a LOT reloaded for the cost of these. And even simpler…drop the brass (components, if you want)….exchange some cash, back some the remans….

That's a good suggestion, but he really wants to make his own. He's probably only going to load a couple pistol calibers and a couple rifle that he shoots the most. Since my career specialty is robotics/automation, I would be the one setting up the equipment, keeping it running, and doing caliber changes for him. Of course, I would also get to use it myself as needed.

that sounds like an amazing project that you need to keep us posted!

I thought you were speaking hypothetically. You are 4 real!

I programmed a PLC to tie into a Dillon press so it is automated, not just auto driven. Stops if anything is wrong.

Now there are a couple outfits making similar setups for sale and I actually traded into a Mark 7 automated press, that is nice.

All of them are going to require setup and in the case of the Ammoload/Camdex machines that generally requires a much, much higher level of knowledge to keep them running.

Programmable Logic Controller! this brings me back to college! I did mechanical engineering but dropped out to be a photographer. !

Machine Learning Press! it’s coming!

What caliber changes? Get one for each caliber.

Yes. It is. Working on it. That’s why I asked about your homemade powder check. I was thinking more along the lines of a confocal laser.
Ha Ha Ha … I was thinking about a laser for a powder check! I did laser metrology for 2 years and that was 20 years ago, could only imagine what they have now
