I own a GLOCK26 currently, and while it's a good gun, it's not a tremendous fit for my big gorilla hands, even with the finger extension. I'm fair with it on the range, but I wouldn't trust myself to nail targets, paper or otherwise, reliably more than 10 yards out. I can put holes in paper at 25 yards, but not where I want to.
With that exposition out of the way, at a range recently I got a chance to fire the Beretta 92. I've always loved the look of this gun from movies, but in my hand it was like true love. That gun just felt great in my hand. Weight, thickness, everything. First show down range at 21 feet nails the bullseye. And this is a well used range gun. I proceed to fire the remaining 9 rounds (California, boo!) into a tighter group than anything I've done with the Glock at 21 feet.
I turned to my friend and said "I shouldn't have shot this, because now I have to have one."
So what I want to ask is does anyone here own a Beretta 92? I've started doing research (though that stall at work, where most gun sites are blocked, but this isn't for some reason) but there is a lot of politically based "I hate Beretta because it replaced the .45 in the Army" pages and not a lot of straight reviews.
So I'm wondering what the personal experiences are here from this group? I really love the fit and will probably get one soon (Not sure if I want to get my Ruger Vaquero first or the Beretta) regardless, unless some catastrophic info is presented here.
Thanks for your time and thoughts.
(And .45 fans, don't worry, a 1911 is on my list of guns to acquire. Shot them at the range and was pleased with the performance of a Springfield)
