I'll go again:

.30 Luger

25-20
.22HP/.22 Savage
.35 Winchester
.458 WIN MAG-Never seen anywhere
.44-40-classic but not lots of modern use
50-90, 50-100, 50-110/Sharps stuff
.475 Wildey Mag

The .260 Rem is a great cartridge, but it's literally bracketed by the .243 Win and the 7mm-08, both also great cartridges. My sis-in-law shoots one for deer and the two deer she shot last year were DRT. Of course, she shoots them in the neck 'cause she doesn't like to track them.

hows about the 460 S&W? Seems like a reloaders dream but was completely overshadowed by the 500 S&W....

+1 The Swede is an amazing cartridge. It's a crying shame that the American metric prejudice of past decades kept this one from being chambered in sport rifles.

If Remington had taken the cartridge, simply renamed it something like "The .26 Express" or some such and chambered it in the 700, it would have quickly become a classic.

I can say the same for the 7x57 and 8x57 Mausers. They're totally eclipsed by both the 7 Mags and the 7mm-08, but the original 7x57 IS the do-all round.

The bigger 8mm is a moderate-recoil game stomper. Loaded properly, it will reliably put down anything on this continent, from whitetails to bruins (yes, even the big 'uns), and most critters on any other continent.

It's a three horse race folks.

10mm and .41 magnum are neck and neck with 38 super half a length back...coming round to the home stretch.

It's gonna go down to the wire.

6.5 Grendel, be nice to get it cheaper.
.38 Super, I had one back in the 80s. I just don't understand how this round is not more popular.

They did, it's called the .260 Remington. Well, 6.5-08 really, but it's close enough for American shooters.

I'll throw my hat in with .285 OKH. Basically a 7mm-06.

Any of the 6.5's, the Swede has never done as well in the U.S. as it should. .264 WM never really caught on, I really like it.
both of the 9.3's
10mm
41mag
5mm
