Just bought a Sig P6 police trade in. This gun is a dream. I need a CCW holster. I need a good, versital holster for most situations. I prefer to carry on my belt. I would primarily use it for just general walking around in public. Any recommendations?

Thanks, David

Have you decided if you want IWB or OWB. There are so many variables you need to give some more information such as climate, dress, build etc.

I've always been a fan of Crossbreed Holsters. Their Supertuck IWB holster is amazingly comfortable. Slightly higher priced than you would see other holsters for, but they have the best warranty you could ever want. Lifetime.

I just got one of these for my J-Frame, and while it is nice and comfortable, i can hear the leather creaking just about anytime i move. Is that normal?

Anyways, I ordered a Blade-Tech "Ultimate Concealment Holster" for my P6, but its not due to arrive until friday. http://www.blade-tech.com/Blade-Tech-Ultimate-Concealment-Holster-pr-821.html

I've carried mine in a Bianchi suede IWB holster with a steel belt clip - I don't recall the model name - for several years with no problems. I'd like to get another of the same holster for when this one wears out.

I usually wear jeans. I have never tried an IWB holster. Most of the shirts I wear are tucked in. That may have to change. I am a pipe fitter and usually dress very casually. Dress up some on the weekends, but not a lot. I used to be a cop, back in the 80's and wore pancackes mostly. Printing was not a problem, if asked I produced I.D. Now I want more concellability. I am 5' 8" tall and 185#. Live in NC so climate varies. Currently AM lows in 20's and 30's Highs in 40's. Summer hot and humid.
Thanks, guys

These days I carry my Sigs more often than not in a Galco skyops holster. The p229 sized holster readily fits my p6, p228 and p229, is comfortable, and lets me either carry with shirt tucked in, out, or "Virginia carry". The combo of the p6 and the Skyops is a good one, at least for me.

My all time favorite is the Milt Sparks VersaMax VMII, but its gotten a bit uncomfortable with the love handles I've been developing since Thanksgiving. The VMII rides higher than most other holsters I have.

Also a favorite is the Milt Sparks Summer Special.

You can continue wearing tucked in shirts if you like. I've been a fan of the DeSantis Tuck This holster for a few years now. With a good gun belt and an undershirt it can comfortably conceal a service-sized pistol and extra mag, if you prefer.
