Come on, folks. Admit it. You like to blow stuff into itsy-bitsy bits, don't you? So what's your favorite fruit, vegetable, or melon to blow the crap out of? What caliber and bullet type?

Me? I like huge over-ripe tomatoes and cantaloupes. Cantaloupe are pricey though... unless you can find someone throwing old ones away.:) I use the cheapest HP ammo I can find in .45 ACP. I don't hunt but I like killing those pesky rotten smelly fruits and watching their guts spray every!!

Mods: If this is inappropriate I'll have no hard feelings if you delete or close the thread. Just trying to have a little fun.:D

I forgot a case of beer in the trunk of my black car in July..... I am not ever going to drink skunky beer, but they made FANTASTIC reactive targets.

The can spit like an overcooked polish sausage and the foam went everywhere. We were shooting at them with a .22WMR at 150 yards, so 24 cans kept us entertained for a whole afternoon.

Whoever said that beer and guns don't mix obviously never shot the guns AT the beer... :)

Well carving the watermelon with a 500S&W is a great way to start the festivities on the 4th of July.:D After the frost gets the garden, the unusable stuff will fall victim to the .22 with hollow points.

Overgrown Zucchini are in season right now.:D My .243 with V-Max bullets thows pieces of them 40feet in all directions. and since they are oblong, some chunks are big and you can watch them fly all over. Then you shoot up the broken pieces more:evil:

Tomatoes, peaches, other "juicy' types turn into MIST with V-max at 3400fps. Good times!!!!!

Okay so we've added murderous acts toward old beer, watermelon and overgrown zucchini. I don't follow the waste of the beer regardless of skunkiness but... I'm a cheapskate and beer lover. Watermelon? Old hat, my friend.:D Zucchini is a new one.

Where are the pics/videos?!? Okay, I'm being hypocritical. I've no demonstrative visuals either. But come on!! Where's all the veggie/fruit/melon bloody gore??

targets

The absolute best I have ever seen was a watermelon and a 243. once at an impromptue range we found a box of half rotten tomatoes. The 30-06, 357, 22 &45LC just made little splatters. A 12 ga load of 6's tore a swath.

Oh, goodie, a fellow grapefruit hater. Let's kill lots o' them sons o' bit... little guys!! And a video to boot. I love it!:D

The best ever has definitely been a jug of water. Simple as that. It was a shot from about seven meters ... And the jug quite literally tore in half ... One side went left, the other side went right. Not a fruit, but oh so satisfying.

Of course, you used veggie-gut-colored water right?;)

Surprisingly, the biggest splatter I got from a fruit was tangerines shot with some sort of 50 caliber rifle a guy brought to the range. Not BMG, might have been Beowulf or similar. We're talking yards of dispersion.

Or, the time I put a 1/2# bottle of Tannerite in a large pumpkin. Pie everywhere.

I would like to try the pumpkin thing again, except Tannerite is banned from ranges now, so I thought about hollowing one out and filling with water and hitting with my Garand or maybe a 12ga slug.

We have a pumkin shoot at one of the local ranges. Lots of pumkins, some stuffed full of Tannerite, full autos and beltfeds. Its a good time.
