Outside of those in my sig line, I've seen these in this forum and LOVED them:

"Bother," said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

"An armed society is a polite society."

And my favorite (and commonly used one with fellow gun-nut friends):

"If you shoot 'em in the freakin' head they'll stop!"

If you are free to be a liberal -- thank a man with a gun!

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun!

Bolt actions speak louder than words.

"A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and
emotional maturity." Sigmond Freud

The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will loose.
--- James Earl Jones

"You cannot reason with an armed criminal in your bedroom at 3:00 a.m."

I read this somewhere years ago. Can't remember where.

"From the time you call 911 until the good guys arrive, you're on your own."

Can't remember where I read this either.

Friend to friend at a local match after he had missed most of a stage:

"you know you can use that bumpy thing on the end of the barrel to aim don't you?"

Was this from a movie, or his personal life?

It wouldn't surprise me that he would be for 2nd amendment rights, growing up in the south and serving in the Rangers, just curious.

Here's another, more serious.

I was training a group of police officers in Texas, and during the break, one officer asked his friend if he carried his weapon in church. The other cop replied, "I will never be caught without my gun in church." I asked why he felt so strongly about this, and he told me about a cop he knew who was at a church massacre in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1999. In that incident, a mentally deranged individual came into the church and opened fire, gunning down fourteen people. He said that officer believed he could have saved every life that day if he had been carrying his gun. His own son was shot, and all he could do was throw himself on the boy's body and wait to die. That cop looked me in the eye and said, "Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself after that?" -- Dave Grossman

"Violence only leads to more violence." This one is so stupid you usually have to be the president of an Ivy League university to say it. Here's the truth, which you know in your heads and hearts already: Ineffective, unfocused violence leads to more violence. Limp, panicky, half-measures lead to more violence. However, complete, fully-thought-through, professional, well-executed violence never leads to more violence because, you see, afterwards, the other guys are all dead. That's right, dead. Not "on trial," not "reeducated," not "nurtured back into the bosom of love." Dead. D-E-Well, you get the idea. -- Larry Miller

"How can you shoot women and children?"
"It's easy, you just lead them a little less!"

From Full Metal Jacket- I have a sick sense of humor, I know.

Aside from the Sig, here's my favorites:

"25 States allow anyone to buy a gun, strap it on, and walk down the street with no permit of any kind: some say it'scrazy. However, 4 out of 5 US murders are committed in the other half of the country. So who is crazy?"
- Andrew Ford

"There are many things more horrible than bloodshed; and slavery is one of them."
Padraig Pearse, 1913

"Terrorists don't seem to be too afraid of stern language. But I do notice, that while the fear of death does not seem to deter these people, the fact of BEING dead does significantly decrease their operational effectiveness. "
- Bill Whittle

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.
– P.J. O'Rourke

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
– Samuel Adams

Americans have the right and advantage of being armed – unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.
– James Madison

He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.

They have gun control in Cuba. They have universal health care in Cuba. So why do they want to come here?
– Paul Harvey 8/31/94

Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA – ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the State.
– Heinrich Himmler
(Not a favorite of course, just very telling.)

If guns cause crime, then matches cause arson. -Unknown

Guns don't kill people, husbands that come home early do.
-Larry the Cable Guy

Armed people are free. No state can control those who have the machinery and the will to resist, no mob can take their liberty and property. And no 220-pound thug can threaten the well-being or dignity of a 110-pound woman who has two pounds of iron to even things out … People who object to weapons aren't abolishing violence, they're begging for rule by brute force, when the biggest, strongest animals among men were always automatically "right." Guns ended that, and a social democracy is a hollow farce without an armed populace to make it work.
– L. Neil Smith (from The Probability Broach)

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government. -- George Washington

I have a perl script sig file for e-mail that randomly changes it everytime I boot up. Here are some of my gun sigs...

“A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercise, I
advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the Body, it
gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played
with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body
and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the
constant companion of your walks.†-- Thomas Jefferson

“Molon Labe!†(Pronounced: mo-lone lah-veh. Greek translation: 'Come and
get them!') - Spartan General-King Leonidas, 480BC. Said to Xerxes,
son of Darius, King of Persia, when told of the futility of trying to
resist the advance of the huge Persian army and the demand that the
Spartans lay down their arms.

“A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity.†-- Sigmund Freud, General Introduction to Psychoanalysis
(1952)

“Any politician who won't trust you with the weapon of your choice
clearly cannot be trusted with the power he desires over your life.†--
Aaron Zelman and L. Neil Smith, Hope, Page 59.

“The Second Amendment was written expressly to intimidate government
officials and keep them in their place. The fact that politicians and
bureaucrats, regardless of their party, detest it and want it obliterated
proves that it works.†-- Aaron Zelman and L. Neil Smith, Hope, Page 45.

“I've heard that phallic-symbol argument before, and always from
ineffectual people driven to make everyone else as helpless as they are.
Who's more confused, those that think weapons are sexual organs or those
who want to take everyone's sexual organs away?†-- L. Neil Smith, The
Probability Broach, Page 111.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which
feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget
that ye were our countrymen.†-- Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia
State House, August 1, 1776.

“No, there will be no restoration of the Second Amendment in once free
and fearless America. Instead, fulfilling a pretty good definition of
insanity, what they'll do is a whole lot more of what already hasn't
worked.
Now we're going to make our law-abiding disarmed victims-to-be wait in
even MORE interminable lines while we search their bags and their persons
really, really, really well.
For nail-clippers and scissors and little, tiny knives.†-- Vin
Suprynowicz, The Passengers Were All Disarmed, 9.15.01.

“On the whole, citizens are more successful gun users than are the
police. When police shoot, they are 5.5 times more likely to hit an
innocent person than are civilian shooters.†-- CATO Institute Policy

The Republican Party is in bed with Gun Rights organizations because it
is great sex, not because they have a relationship. -- Cory Brickner, 1994
(after Senator Bob Dole let the Omnibus Crime Act pass banning large
capacity magazines and semi-automatic military styled weapons).

I don't vote. I won't consent to misrepresentation and that because only
30 percent of people own guns in this country, the other 70 percent get
to tell me what to do. And I certainly won't reinforce it by electing
politicians. I won't give credence to so-called mandates from power
hungry elitist morons who feel it is their delusional destiny to guide
the lowly masses into their self-aggrandized master plan. I won't
participate in using force to gang up on people so that I can steal from
the losing minority to get things I don't have the intelligence, stamina,
or fortitude to earn for myself. -- Cory Brickner, November, 2002.

“Be wary of strong drink. It can make you shoot at tax collectors... and
miss†-- Robert A. Heinlein

Best quote I ever heard was from my wife when I presented her with a brand new Beretta Tomcat. She looked it over and then said,

"I don't want this. The hole in the end is not big enough. I want one with a big hole in the end." :D

A self-made sign in the front yard outside my home reads:

There 'aint nothin' in here worth dyin' for.

There is the outline of a rather large revolver which is pointed directly at the reader next to the text.

Anarchocapitalist,

Is that perl script something that can be accomplished on MS Outlook by a novice such as myself?

I like that technique.

Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun, and that gun must remain firmly in the hands of the state.
- Chairman Mao Zedong (Tse-tung)

...if you want the whole quote.

"Happiness is a warm gun, bang-bang, shoot-shoot." The Beatles (Not that they meant it when they sang it but, how true! Actually inspied by a cover of the NRA magazine the American Rifleman, according to John Lennon in an interview he said the cover said Happiness is a New Gun and showed a kid holding a new 22 rifle. Little did that ultra leftist lib realize that the kid was happiest once he had fired it enough to warm it up nicely.)

No women, no kids. Leon in The Professional.

Then there is a short discussion between the gun store clerk and the Terminator, it goes like this:

The Terminator: Twelve-gauge autoloader. The .45 longslide with laser sighting.

Alamo Guns Clerk: Anything else?

The Terminator: Phased plasma rifle in the 40-Watt range.

Alamo Guns Clerk: Hey, just what you see, pal.

The Terminator: The Uzi 9 millimeter.

Alamo Guns Clerk: You know your weapons, buddy. Any one of these is ideal for home defense. So, uh... which'll it be?

The Terminator: All.

That quote in boldface is one of my all time favorites when taken in context. You gotta love agun store clerk like that, too bad the terminator terminated him.

And of course, the all time best 'one worder spoken' by the Gunslinging Robot (Yul Brenner) in the movie West World: DRAW

I guess my favorite has to be the Beatles quote, it rings so true to any shooter I have ever known!

All the best,

Perl Sig Script.

Well, you would have to install ActiveState Perl on your computer (http://downloads.activestate.com/ActivePerl/Windows/5.8/ActivePerl-5.8.6.811-MSWin32-x86-122208.msi) then put my script in your startup folder and modify it to suit your tastes with a text editor.

Essentially I use Outlook Express and the script just overwrites a "politisig.txt" file every time the computer boots. Outlook Express is set up to use that text file as its signature file. So I don't see why you can't do the same thing with the full Outlook version.

"You might find me laying dead in a ditch one day, but I'll be in a pile of empty brass." Texas Ranger ( can't remember his name)

"It's a six-shooter! There are nine bodies! What were you gonna do, laugh the other three to death, Funnyman?"

After the cat is splattered on the wall - "Is it dead?"

"Not without incident..."

"Dodge this."

One of my favorites, spoken by my buddy as we were discussing what would happen if we got pulled over on the way to or from the range:
Officer: "Where are you guys going with all these guns?"
Buddy: "School."

"It's better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have one." -- from "True Romance"
