Today was my 40th birthday. I was teasing my wife a few weeks ago and wondered out loud whether big "kids" could have parties like the little kids do at Chuck E. Cheese. So imagine my surprise when my neighbor and I showed up to the range this morning...my wife had reserved three lanes and invited my other buddy for a "party". The lane target holder had a big "40th" sign and balloon (which I promptly shot!). She even had goody bags for everyone, complete with 100 rounds of WWB for each of us!

Needless to say, we had a great time. We got to sling a bunch of lead down range -- completely sanctioned by "the Boss". I was breaking in my new CZ 75BD and my buddy has his new Steyr M9. I put a picture of my "40th" target on my website, here: http://users.adelphia.net/~navy87guy/cz75bd.html

You guys should look into it...it was the most fun I've had at a birthday in years. All the credit goes to my wife...she's the best!

Fantastic...happy birthday! Just wait until the BD breaks in some, it'll shoot really nice. Get the 17# hammer spring too (I have the 16# right now but it's a tad light).

Did you go to Shooters Paradise?

No...we went to The Range in south Stafford (I live down that way).

Thanks for the info on the spring...I'm anxious to get some more rounds down range and get her "broken in". I had tried a CZ 75B in .40 S&W a while back and just wasn't impressed...but I love my BD already!

40?

Why, you're just a puppy! :neener:

Now THAT'S a good sounding party! Can I come next time?

:p

Hey, I have a Colt Match Target too! It's a safe queen at this point.

Then there's my circa 1966 Colt 1911...

Happy B'Day...

:D

Sounds like a happy 40th to me!!

I have a CZ75BD also and really like the weapon. So far I have only added a stainless steel guide rod but I want to add some other goodies to it. Some meprolights, wolfe recoil spring, and maybe splurge for some Hakan grips.

What does the increase in hammer spring weight do other than cause a harder strike on the primer?

Have fun with your CZ 75BD :D

Happy belated. Today was my 49th birthday. My wife had the porch decorated with balloons and crepe paper when I got home from work. The neighbors were out in force and we had a great time til about 9:00 this evening. No range time today, but my AR-15 was my birthday present, so I'm not complaining a bit. After 30 years, she's still the one for me.

Happy belated too. (And wishes also to Stevie-Ray - one more year Stevie - and you get another zero!! :p)

My what a bash - gotta be about as good as it gets eh. Great idea and proves to us here I'd say - you truly have a wonderful wife and a keeper too.

For my 35th, my wife threw me a McDonalds party. Complete with the throne, crown, Happy Meals, and the cake in the trick box.
I had no idea why she wanted to go inside just for a cup of coffee. Was surprised to see my Dad, her Mom and assorted other family members.
