Anyone seeing any early bird deals? What are you really hoping to find during the holiday sales?

I saw last week Menards had a 24 gun Sports Afield safe for like $400. They ran this sale a few years ago but i found a larger/better safe for $100 more. If i find a good deal on a safe I’ll bite. Not sure how i feel about Sports Afield though. Local shop had a Liberty Dial lock for around $500 too.

Debating on buying some new hunting boots but it seems everything is now made in china and leaks. I may stick with my old boots that i have RTV smeared all over to help with leak. :)

I have also been playing with the idea of a 450bm or 350L. I have a 44 and 45-70 so I keep putting it off.

Wilson Combat has their barrels on sale. They usually do during the holidays. I'm tempted to buy the 65CM

Rural King is doing 10%off all guns. Looks like they are going to have a cheap Rossi .22 rifle for $80 after a rebate

PSA had a few but they didn't look like very good deals to me. Not like in the past. They had a (non premium) 5.56 pistol with magpul brace for $599. That price seems to be more in line with their Premium or Saber lineup.

I'm going to be keeping an eye peeled for a deal on a large safe or gun locker, don't have alot in the budget for one but if I see a good deal I might be able to rustle up the dough. Also a Shot Timer or steel targets.

I’ll be looking for the cheapest 9mm range ammo I can find. Hopefully Academy will run a good sale. Midway will be running a cyber week sale. Maybe their IMI 556 ammo will come down since WWIII hasn’t escalated as hyped.

Already spent my gun money on toys this year. However, what I bought was due to dynamite deals. I found a decent Nagant for $160 (turned out to be accurate, spot-on for windage); found an old bolt action shotgun for $150, one like I had centuries ago when I was a boy; found a .32 revolver in great condition for $200 (turned out to be accurate). Did I need them, oh heavens, NO. But the deals were just great. The firearm owners didn't appreciate the intrinsic value of these old timers. It sickens me when I see useful tools being neglected. Have bought antique tools, but I USE them as the tools they were built to be. Often, antiques are of higher quality that what you can buy new at the hardware store.

Most of 2023 has seemed like Black Friday :scrutiny: compared to what I would have expected with much les$$ inflation-

due to the reduced demand/ "over $upply" of semi-auto, centerfire rifles, ie ARs, AKMs, PTR-91s, FALs etc.

Maybe prices for certain brands of nib ARs might have gone up (no idea), but I see no evidence of it for nib rifles in these Other chamberings; and I own all of these types except for an AR.

Thanks, Creepy Guy.

I've been watching the sales on firearms related stuff and radio equipment too. Though I doubt I will make any big purchases since I spent my mad money on two way radios over the last two months after getting my amateur technician license.

If I were you would concentrate on a new set of boot liners. Then look at safes which have rolled steel bars that lock the door.
After all that you may still have the money left to consider a new rifle, though personally I like the old ones better. Happy Black Friday.
