Blended Metal Bullet Technology?

Has anyone seen or fired the so called "Armor Piercing/Frangible" ammo on the History channel's "Bullets" show?

I was wondering how this is even possible. The distributor (Le Mas Ltd.) claims that the bullet can "sense" the temprature of the target. It supposedly will penetrate a cold target without deformation, but when it senses heat equivalent to body heat it will completly disinegrate. They claim it will penetrate 1/4" steel, but won't penetrate four 5/8" sheets of drywall. That doesn't even make sense since bullets already become very hot due to friction w/ the air and the barrel of a firearm.

If this bullet works it would be a huge advance, but I just don't see how it's even possible.

I googled it but I can't find a whole lot of info on it. The distibutor's website only will give access to Military and LE, and you need a special access code.

Dr. Gary Roberts recently did an excellent overview of all the ridiculous and patently false claims made by the Le Mas people along with a scientific examination of their bullets. To make a long story short, their pistol bullet's core is made of ... lead. With a nylon insert to reduce mass. It does not sense heat, at least not more than anything else made of solid lead does. Like most other things that are made of lead, it is not lead free. Like other chunks of solid lead, it is not smart, it is not blended, and it does not have "programs", "payloads", nor does it "deploy" anything.

He also examined their rifle bullets, and discovered that they were in fact rebranded commercial hunting bullets manufactured by Barnes, Hornady, Nosler, and Sierra, who were no doubt very surprised to learn that their bullets were programmable heat sensing smart bullets.

What a steaming load. How the heck can these people get away offering commercially availible bullets with a moly coating and call it something it is most obviously not.

The LeMas thing has been thoroughly discredited, but I might point out an observation of the video that he is talking about...it was good for LeMas that the reporter talking to him didn't know squat about bullets or weapons!

The guy shoots a pistol at a steel plate, it doesn't penetrate, no surprise there at all, then he shoots a roast with the same pistol, most likely using full metal jacket bullets, and the bullet penetrates the roast making a small hole, completely predictable.

The other half of the demonstration he takes a M1A rifle, that makes a really good comparison, comparing the performance of a 308 rifle against a pistol, probably a 9mm. The first shot from the rifle, he's probably shooting a FMJ round, the bullet punches a clean hole in the steel plate, again completely predictable! Then he proceeds to shoot the roast, I'm sure he's using the LeMas round with the standard ballistic tip bullet that anyone can buy from a number of different suppliers, and the roast literally explodes, again completely predictable.

The only thing that was exceptionally dramatic about this demonstration is that the people shooting the documentary were completely fooled by the demo from LeMas, it was bad enough that the shot the video, but then to show it?
