For pocket carry, who makes bluejeans with deep enough pockets that a pocket holster is deep enough to stay out of site. I'm old enough to seem to remember pockets being a bit deeper than now a days. Likely a place to trim costs. I'd like to avoid learning sewing to extend my pockets and just buy the correct trousers.

Thanks,

Clutch

Most of my carpenter style jeans have deep enough pockets for a Colt Agent. I have them in Wrangler, Carhartt, and Pointer brand and can put a snubbie .38 in the pockets.

Faded Glory Jeans at wallyworld. The pockets are cut deep and roomy compared to any other jeans I've seen. Square-cut pocket holsters, or those with a square flap on the front that makes the holster resemble a wallet, actually work better in these jeans.

I get most of my jeans at old navy. No problem with a j frame holster.

I just saw on another thread that you'll be using a Nemesis holster for pocket carry. It will work well in the jeans I spoke of. These are actually the only jeans I have that the Mika round-cut doesn't work well in. The Mika square-cut is a little too long at the square part on the bottom for the pockets.

I will also mention that the pockets in Faded Glory jeans allow the use of a fullsize grips. No dangling pinky.

My Dickies brand Jeans have pockets deep enough to carry a 2-1/2"bbl J-frame. My Carhartt brand bluejeans do not. Those are the only two brands of jeans I still have.

External Pocket??? Sounds like an oxymoron. I just ordered a screen door on my submarine!

You could also consider sewing your own.
The same color stitching, and a little cloth and the limits of your pocket are what you decide.
There is no complex shape or real sewing or tailoring talent required.
The required number of stitches so few that hand sewing them would be quick.

Most blue jean pocket material is little different than bedsheets. Some old sheets could probably be turned into whatever size and shape pocket you wanted.

I found a pair of Izod brand jeans at a local thrift store that were practically new. The pockets on those are very deep. I always carry my wallet in my front pocket and having the large pockets up front is nice. I can hardly feel the bottoms of the pockets. I'm not sure how old these jeans are and most companies these days make things cheaper and cheaper, but give Izod a look if you see them on the shelves.

In my experience, all Wally world (cheap jeans) have tight pockets that aren't very deep.

The deepest pockets (big enough to pocket a G26 easily) I have found are Arizona brand from JC Penny. They are exceedingly large, deep, and wide.

Levis cargo pants are still my favorite to pocket carry. It seems like they were cut for the purpose. I am not talking about cargo pocket carry, I am talking about the regular front pocket.

Good thread. I gave up jeans when I went to pocket carry. I've been wearing slacks and cargo trousers, for the looseness.

The pic shows flannel lined but scroll down and you'll get the normal 5-pocket classic Jeans .

They're $14.97 or $13.47 if you're a member. They're a littler thicker than Levis and have way bigger/deeper pockets.

I bought one just to try them. I'm really impressed. Every bit the quality as Levi or Wrangler at far less money. I bought 3-4 more!

I agree with Frozen North [reply #14]. I've been a Levi guy all my life but when I decided to 'pocket carry' I ran into the same problems. Same with 'ankle carry'.

I went with Cargo style pants. Very roomy and the front/inside pocket is plenty large for most pocket guns. The legs are also loose enough so that ankle carry doesn't present a bulge.

Carhartt makes "jeans" in standard "jeans cut", and they make denim work pants (the ones with the small leg pockets on the sides also) that have larger pockets. The small leg pockets also work well for carrying your small flashlight, pepper pen, writing pens, clip on knife, etc.

I carry my Kahr P380 in my front Levi's pocket in an Uncle Mike's No. 1. Plenty of room and comfort. My Levi's also accommodate my Kahr PM9 in the front pocket in a Don Hume IWB. It's obviously heavier than the P380, so a little less comfortable, but manageable enough that at least one of these is with me 100% of the time.

I carry a KT pf9 or p11 in carhartt and several other loose cut and carpenter jeans. My glock 27 fits but for me is to thick for me to carry in a pocket. Side pocket works well for a knife outside half and mag on the inside also.

I wear Wrangler relaxed fit jeans or cutoffs almost all of the time and I am able to pocket carry my Ruger LCR357 just fine.

Lee Carpenter and a De Santis Nemesis holster conceals my S&W 642 very well. I have another Nemesis for my LCP.
