(I wish OH had the "can't inspect" part - an Officer can grab the gun out of your holster - Lord hope he finds the retention strap, or can work the more exotic retention devices. Or knows how to "safe" the thing if that's his intention. I met a kid with a local PD a while back who'd barely ever seen a 1911....)

If im ever disarmed without due cause they will see a very unfriendly side from me. IMO they have no right to ever touch my weapon unless they have due cause that danger is presented.

Now i wouldn't have an issue disarming myself out of courtesy that a LEO may be uncomfortable, But to be treated like a criminal and have my weapon forcibly taken from me is just as bad as someone walking down the street grabbing my gun.

Now in saying that i hope and don't ever think that will happen.

And it is very true that in Ohio that if you follow the law about not entering buildings and places that have the "No guns permitted on premises" signs posted you have to leave your weapon behind in your car if you carry 24/7 like i do.
I just wish these signs were posted where i could see them in most cases, I know i miss seeing alot of them. But the ones on Federal buildings they are pretty darn easy to see and read so my gun stays locked in the car then.

I don't go to bars anymore, Getting my CHL stopped that. So if anyone says letting people carry concealed weapons does nothing good for society they are wrong. I do miss a few pints of Dogfishhead 90 Minute double IPA on tap, That is the necter of the gods!
But id much rather have the right to defend myself and especially do it with a 100% clear head.

Why in earth do you want to tell the world that you carry a firearm? Makes absolutely no sense to me. It is supposed to be concealed; as a concealed weapon, it is not something that is to be commonly known to anyone. The police have the resources to identify people who carry if they choose to.

No. Bad idea for all the reasons enumerated above. Also, I think we need to clarify the fact, once and for all, that LEOs do not look on concealed permit holders as their brethren.

The only justification I can think of is that it may serve as an effective notice to the officer in those states requiring notification when you come into contact. However, I don't see that as a compelling reason.

DasFriek:

My problem here in OH is the restaurants, although the "buildings we paid for" is a real hurt, too....

(For folks who are not from OH, restaurants that serve are NOT required to post. I just found out that my favorite non-alcohol place got a liquor license in February, and just put some little cards in the condiment holders on the tables. Ooops.... There's no "knowingly" in the law, either.)

The car is clean, other than a hi-band radio that's a little hard to see. The antenna is a cellular look-alike.... Mom's car grew a hi-band radio and a little spike when I started driving it regularly. It begs for one of those "Mafia Staff Car" stickers....

Regards,

In Indiana the young officer might just ask you to step out of the car and remove your handgun " for your safety and his " if he saw a " I gotta' gun and I'm stupid" sticker on your car.

No clutter on my truck, I'm a life NRA member and still don't put that on the back glass.
