I have a chance to pick up a C-More Colt Scout Sight in partial payment for a Garand. It looks like a good idea but before I take it I'd like to get some opinions from those who may have had these sights. Are they any good? Are they worth it?

    TIA.

What is the partial payment amount equivalent to in dollars? That will help determine if it is worth it.

The CMore is a nice sight. I had some issues with one on an IPSC gun, but if the price is right, it may be worth taking.

The unit I used was a pain to zero. There were no positive stops for adjusting zero, it is just a best guess when trying to adjust windage and elevation. To make matters worse trying to lock down your adjustments would cause them to change.

I have elected to go with an Aimpoint, they seem almost indestructable and they are simple enough even for a marine to figure out.

I posted a question about the C-More over on ar15.com and was surprised by the forcefulness of the uncomplimentary remarks about the C-More. YMMV.

Thanks for the comments. My asking price for the rifle was $650, but I dropped that to $575 (what I have in it) since the guy is a steady customer at the same shop I am. He was asking $350 for the sight (used - new at Dillon they are $310), so i was thinking about the sight and $300. But I think I might just quietly drop the idea and just sell the rifle outright and look at other optics.
