I'll be there with bells on!

Well, maybe not the bells. ;)

This range is worth a long drive. It's a nice drive, too. It'll remind you that we CANNOT concede this state to the Useful Idiots, It's just WAY TOO NICE!

Subject, of course, to the weather co-operating. But hey, it's after Daylight Savings, so the range is open until 5 p.m.

Sorry to hear it if you can't make it this time, but we gotta start someplace. We might consider rotating locations if we can do this regular, like. Giddayup, li'l kitty!

If the weather's good, the place'll be packed, and parking gets tough. Should be room, but you might have to walk a bit to get to the range you want to use.

If you're bringing jugs for the plinking range, Fill 'em ahead of time if convenient. The cease-fires are never long enough, it seems.

NOTE the first: There IS a 100-yard plinking range. This is where I REALLY polish my handgun skills. If the light's right in the afternoon, you can see bullets in flight. (The sun's going down-ish behind you. They weren't little gray flies buzzing over my sights, they were the backsides of .38 special 158-grn SWC's.)

NOTE the second: Last time I visited, the only 7.62 x 39 the range had for sale was Wolf. The Monster cannot abide Wolf, they stick so hard they have to driven out with a mallet and a brass rod. I won't forgive a cheap price when my gun goes home with cases stuck in it. YMMV. Also, this was MONTHS ago, and they might have re-stocked with something else. The range wasn't impressed with it either.

NOTE the third: The range has a good caliber selection for sale, but not much load variety, mostly a single choice except for the most popular rounds. All (Except the Wolf. :barf: ) is good factory stuff like Winchester USA brand White Box, Remington, PMC, and Federal new ammo. Prices are adequate.

REMEMBER, drive at a SLOW WALKING PACE while on the grounds, or The Man In The Booth Will Yell At You. Be Told.

And Dinner sounds positively smashing. :)

Hello Sven,
I just wanted to let you know that April 20 is Easter Sunday and Los Altos Rod and Gun club will be closed on that day.
If you decide on another date please let us know.
Hey guys and Gals, I'm new here,..Howdy..

Hello Gary, Thanks for the welcome.
We have a group of friends that shoot at Los Altos every Saturday morning, and will plan on being at the shoot on April 19th.
Regards, Mitch

can I cold carry? (gun in holster, unloaded, no mag)
or is it like every other range on the planet except for halo.

Date change noted.

Atek3: If you have a gun off the bench during the Cease-Fire, you WILL get your head bitten off. They'll Stop The Range on your account.

"No Handling Or Transporting Of Firearms During The Cease-Fire!"

Like you said, like every other range on the planet. :)

Well it looks like the weather will cooperate so I'll be there- intend on parking at the far end of the 100yd. range, just look for the big black QuarterBoreMobile.

I'm going to try and get there early as the range slots seem to fill up pretty early.

At this stage I will be there.

But... with 5 FEET of new snow in Tahoe I might be going skiing.

I am so torn...

anyone know any arguements i can use to convince my friends to go?
Most of them are totally dragging @ss on this one.

As I have no car, this jeopardizes my attendance.

I'm working on finding a way there.. my bro from LA is in town i just learned and his boy turns 1 on wednesday 4-23.. so my parents and everybody will be having a easter / birthday party..

again, cant commit at this time yet, but if saturday frees up I'm there.. also FYI if rain or clouds (its pretty high up in the mountains) they close the range as well...

ElToro- you're absolutely correct; I've been fogged out at Los Altos many times. I intend to call up there before I leave to see what the weather is like.

Fingers crossed its looking like it will be a go.

'Gonna wear my goofy straw shootin' hat and Hawaiian shirt. Look for it.
