See you in the AM. I will be at the 100yd range.....Mitch grunt.gif

Any Kind souls going to be rolling through the berkeley area on their way to the range?

I live north of the campus and have no car... which unfortunatly means no attendance, unless I could snag a ride from one of y'all. You can shoot my XD-40 :)

We'll be there around noon.

Sorry Atek, won't be anywhere near your neck of the woods.

Just spent a half hour printing targets. I might sell some Barney ones!

I hope I bring enough guns- 5 enough for 2 of us?

Sorry, can't make it this weekend. I live close but have a commitment.

You should have seen the look on atek3's face and Sven when Jim and Kieth Unloaded a Magazine of .308 hollow points on one gallon water buckets filled with poster paint..
KAbbLLoooM KAAABBLLAAMMO.. It looked like the fourth of July..
Hey guys, next time remember to bring up some milk jugs ans poster paint..
:what:

Pictures, we don't need no stinking pictures. I'm uploading MPEGS as I type. We don't mess around.

Click images for ultra-high res, if you really need to get closer for some reason:

Hand_Rifle_Guy shooting Sven's CZ75B with Hakan Custom Grips. HRG is the only guy I know who, upon getting a hold of my CZ, immediately wants to shoot it in Double Action mode to try that aspect of the trigger.

Hand_Rifle_Guy shoots his old Mark IV Webley

jug_.jpg

Results of shooting plastic jugs at 100 yards with the Valtro. I learned that 9mm is much flatter-shooting that .45... for 100 yards I had to aim 1/2 to 3/4 'front sight heights' higher than the target. For 9mm, eerily, I could aim dead on and hit the targets.

And now... the MPEGS! I told you we don't mess around.

jugs_still.jpg

Shooting jugs of tempra and water with rifles. We learned that pistols don't even move the jugs... they slowly 'bleed' out the water. Rifles, as you will see above, have a different effect.

scene_still.jpg

Have you ever seen a shotgun range more beautiful than this? Didn't think so!

Here's where you learn how Hand_Rifle_Guy got his nickname. HRG pretty much explains it all here.

Had a "blast" last Saturday meeting a bunch new people. Thanks Sven for setting it up and supplying the great weather. We are up at the tin can range just about every Saturday so come on by and kill a few water jugs with us.

Calvin:

I had no idea shooting could be so fun! The Tin Can range was so fun, I had an ear-to-ear grin the whole time.

Now I _need_ to get my M1A built so that I can make those jugs explode like you guys.

I can see myself spending many more Saturdays up there... ;)

Sven.

Sorry I missed this one, looks like all had a great time. We spent the weekend shuttling the kids between grandparents and aunts & uncles for Easter festivities; lots of fun, but not hollow point into tempera-paint-filled-milk-jug fun.

What do you think about a THR Bay Area shoot on the same day each month, say the second or third Saturday?

Also, there used to be a TFL shoot at Reeds indoor range the first Monday of the month, what do you think about reviving that as well?

Larry

Looks like everyone had a good time, sorry I missed out. A last minute duty swap got me stuck for the weekend. Pleas post the next get together and I'll give it a shot.

It was lots of fun. Great to meet you all. Thanks for putting it together Sven.

For those of you that weren't there, I am madkiwi's fiance and my head is poking out from behind folks in that group picture.

So I am actually registered here but this is my first post. ;)
