I went to Cabela's yesterday and here is what I saw. Ammo was plentiful, both rifle and handgun but prices were high as usual. There also was rimfire ammo available too but again at a premium. There was one fairly good deal by current standards, the Winchester 333 pack was $19.99. There was a lot of it, a full pallet on the floor. It's the first time I saw that much .22LR ammo in one place since 2008. I bought one and most buyers were taking only 1 or 2 boxes, there was no limit.
Bullets seemed to be plentiful too from Hornady, Sierra, Nosler, Berry's, Reiner and Remington. Primers were available but mostly from Winchester. Prices were again high at between $33 and $37k.
Now for powders. The shelves were full but the stock was mostly Hodgdon/IMR/Winchester. There was nothing from Accurate and one Alliant powder. There was some Norma powder and a few VV rifle powders. They had all the new powders from Hodgdon especially the 4 new IMR Enduron powders. They had AutoComp, CFE-Pistol and W572. The lone Alliant Powder was BE86 and in 1lb and 8lb jugs.
I bought 2x lbs of HS-6 and a pound of W572. Even though I didn't try BE86, AutoComp or CFE-Pistol yet I really wanted to give W572 a try so I bought it. It will be a while before I can shoot anything but when I do I will test 38/357, 9mm, 45 ACP and 45 Colt and see how it does against W231 and HS-6.
