Gotta love it when Asians move to the neighborhood. We take in all the stray cats and dogs :D

KC, where do you go to school? I had a class called 'cultural awareness' or something like that in 9th grade or so.

This writer is an agitprop against anything that might come out in a positive manner for the people of Iraq. He would be happy to show me the bottom of his shoe and think that he had, in some small way, offended me. Cannibals my a--! Eat this!

Re: cats & dogs; isn't that like going to the local greasy wok when Fluffy goes missing? :D

So far as where I go to school, it's the college campus that has the highest percentage of foreign students in California. So far as cultural awareness goes..sometimes discussions get interesting, especially when the Israelis and Palestinians start in on certain subjects. I've never been subjected to mandatory 'sultural sensivity' classes, but that is probably only by accident.

I didn't even consider what you had written, and I certainly didn't mean anything personally by it. I just have this gift for accidentally and unintentionally insulting people.
Don't feel guilty...guit is overrated anyway. Learn from your experiences, and try not to make the same mistake twice in a row--make new ones.

So far as the autopsy pics on Rotten.com go; they've actually put some limits on themselves over the years. The pictorials aren't nearly as gruesome as they used to be, and the really bad ones have been taken down.

KC:

fear not! think skinned an hard headed is I!

you just made me think a little harder about what i said!

now we gotta put you to work on the rest of the world of anti's:D

Skunk -
For every stereotype there's a grain of truth. When my bro lived in S Alexandria, there was a [right off the boat] Chinese family two doors down that really was BBQing Fluffy. Seems the local cat population really was declining, rumors ran amouk, kids went looking in said family's trash cans, found kitty remains. My niece was one of the nosey kids.

There was a rather emotional 'sensitivity/socialization' sesssion that included offers of arson-assisted relocation that calmed down considerably after the constabulary arrive. The family had some local relatives who showed up and smoothed things over, but it was a pretty ugly bit of culture clash at the time. It was a much more interesting neighborhoos than the yupified subdivision he's in now

Trade you my 'possum recipies for your cat recipes... :D

The real problem in multiculturalism isn't respecting a person's right to have certain beliefs--it's the fact that people who don't share those beliefs are forced to accept those beliefs as RIGHT. And many of the beliefs that the Muslims have about Western culture are just NOT RIGHT.

I caused quite an arguement in a CPS Multicultural training class once when I argued that, in order to be truly tolerant, one must accept that the intolerance of others (i.e. KKK, Black Panthers, etc.) is as valid a POV as any other.

Ever see an Austin liberal's head implode?...

How can I forget?!?!?! Fond memories of the place. That's dog by the way.

Gotta love King of the Hill when they thought the Laotians that moved next door were going to eat their dog. "So are you Chinese or Japanese?" :D

As to Rotten.com,

I think some people may be missing my point here. Scroll down and read Rotten's comments! Nothing our folks did or didn't do to the bodies would have changed the minds of those already convinced, but the heavy-handed attempt to prettify the corpses, along with, well, pictures of dead people (who always look awful) sliced open on the slab, may have been sufficient to gross out the fence-sitters, who don't really like us very much anyway.
