I don't think it's a stretch to imagine you're in 38 Spl territory with a bit over 200 ft/lbs. i judge that from Pocoshooting ballistics using Pyrodex and Goex in a .36 cal with a 130 grn conical.
Were it me, and with potentially being used as a self defense tool, I'd use a ball or lighter bullet.
Kaido's bullets are 7-11 BHN, or they were over a year ago when I bought some .45 cal bullets from him and asked. So they'll likely not expand much if at all.
If I get one of those little Colt's, which I have a mind to do, though the little Remington keeps beckoning to me as well, I'd have Accurate Molds make a 80-100 grn FN bullet, and maybe even spend the extra to have it turned into HP's, which I'm considering having done once I figure out how I'm going to have Accurate Molds make my .45 cal bullets.
