If the "actor" in that video does understand anything about close-range defensive shooting, it is that it looks nothing like square-range paper punching, it isn't tidy and suave looking, and your gun may not be the only tool involved in the battle. While he makes some pretty terrible mistakes and doesn't execute the various techniques he's employing in an very expert manner, his practice isn't quite so useless (even ludicrous) as most of the respondents to that video believe.
A couple dozen posters from this thread should now post videos showing the kind of drills they do which accurately reflect and prepare for the violence and chaotic nature of a gun fight.
