Whats the going prices for Chinese SKS's now a days?

Came across a a local ad for a new in box, still in cosmo chinese SKS for $150. Talked to the guy today and going to look at it in a couple of days.

Thought that was a pretty good price, if its still new.

I picked one up recently for $100 while on business in Pensacola. Get 'em while you can, they're worth every penny.

Terrible price, you can get a mint unissued Russian for $99 at the local Walmarts here. Plus they throw in a case of ammo and an a DVD of Red Dawn if you sweet talk them.

I just sold my Chinese SKS for $225. It was a very clean, military issue with all matching serial numbers including the stock. I replaced it with a rearsenaled Russian that appeared to be barely fired for $350. The times are a changin'!

Around where I live, Chinese SKS's are now about $300. Yugo's are going for $250 and Russian SKS's can push $450 or more. I recently found a neglected Chinese SKS mixmaster at a shop for $149. It was sitting next to two nicer ones that were going for $295 each. I took the neglected one and cleaned her up. Looking pretty good now and shoots great. Prices have really gone up the past year and I doubt they are going to come down again. For $150 I would get it and I don't even need another one.

Just saw a trade -in yugo sks at my local gunshop, like new condition for 175.00. The shop owner wants my Baby Browning ( decent condition) for it in straight up trade. Maybe if he throws in a case of ammo for it. I already own an SKS I bought for 115.00 two years ago in exc condition. He doesnt go much for the milsurp stuff unless its something U.S.

I went and picked it up today. It was still new in the box and coated in cosmo. Still had all the accessories to it too. He said he never had it out of the box and sure looks like it.

Only problem was a small rust spot on top of the receiver cover. I cleaned it off, but looks like it will leave a mark in the blue.

Oh well, other then that the rifle is in mint shape.

Bayonet was not attached to the rifle though. I thought i heard there was a reason why the chinese bayonet were not on the rifle. Could anyone fill me in?

Pictures forth comming.
