And let us know when you get your FFL, that'll be a riot I'm sure.

And why would I want a FFL? I don't have a burning desire for the prestige.:D

I'm not in the business of selling firearms. Nor am I in the business of transferring firearms. Nor do I want a bunch of feds snooping around my house. Nor do I want to spend the money for insurance and security equipment to secure my residence or place of business from the public that walks thru my door everyday.

And most importantly, I don't want to be the person that facilitates an individual to have their firearm in a registry. This state has a registry.

Customers MUST provide a signed copy of the 01, 02 or 07 FFL

If I call my FFL and he sends them a copy of his license by fax or email I have provided the CMP with a signed copy of the FFL license and the dealer who will do the transfer. Is that so difficult to understand? Most dealers aren't going to give you a copy of their license.....if they're smart. Mine won't.

So. All I'll add here is that, yes I had read that an FFL could fax a license to CMP with the buyer's name on it. I didn't want to do that. I didn't feel confident that an organization so short on manpower and funding could be counted on to match up my application packet to what must be a significant stack of faxed-in FFLs. I was concerned that the license copy with my name on it would get lost and then my application would be rejected. By submitting it all together, I greatly reduce that possibility.

Guess we'll know in a couple more weeks. Thursday is the deadline. I wonder if they have been typing names into the software as they come in, so that they can press the go button morning of the 5th and have their list of 8k. Or perhaps they've just been stacking applications on a desk for a month and will start typing in names on the 5th. If it's the latter, it will be weeks into moths before we hear anything.
