Hello all,

I have a line on a Colt Combat Elite in very good condition for $600.00. Does this seem like a good price for this weapon? Just thought I would run this by you fellas with much more .45 buying and selling knowledge than I :)

I have one, the earlier style. Best .45 I've ever owned. It's essentially a Gold Cup, different slide. Jump on it; if it's in great shape, you won't be disappointed.

First, I would make sure the pistol is a real Combat Elite. A few years back, quite a few enhanced Combat Elite slides were sold. I actually bought a faux Combat Elite that was made with one of these slides and a stainless Government Model frame. The giveaway was the serial number prefix; it was not "CG". The frame also lacked the front strap serrations of the Combat Elte.

The 23nd edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values lists one at 98% (almost like new) for $620. I have one LNIB and sure wouldn't take that for it. It's one of their better 1911's.
Also keep in mind, Colt recently raised their prices by 30% so corresponding prices on used Colts will probably go up too.
