I've got the Savage 24V in .222Remington over a 20 gauge shotgun. I put a see thru scope mount along with an inexpensive Bushnell scope, and even placed a recoil pad on the Monte Carlo walnut stock. It came in pretty handy when the coyotes started to over run the quail population out here around 1993/94. I used it on quail, using my Labrador Retriever to kick them up, and I dusted quite a few coyotes, as well as quail while out in the desert hunting birds. I still have it, although I haven't used it in quite a while, but it was like having 2 long guns in one on those bird hunts back in the early 90's. I was going to have the rifle barrel reamed to .223, but I figured I'd leave it alone since I loaded for the .222 anyway. I don't remember what I paid for it, but I bought it used, but it looked every bit as new, as it does today except for a few briars that scratched it as well as me.
