What's out there? Compact is key, but it doesn't necessarily have to be pocket sized.

EDIT: I also would like to go without a decocker. I like either a manual safety or no safety at all. And I guess I should change to say that aluminum frames are up for consideration too.

Your question screams CZ P01....

CZ has some nice all steel compacts. Check out their website.

SIG has some models that are all steel and compact.

The older HK P7 is a dandy compact.

Bersa has a compact model that is a lot of gun for the money.

My edc gun has been the all steel Kahr MK9 for the past several years. I love this gun, but it is a single stack and you may want a hi-cap gun.

P01 is my personal choice for a CCW sidearm, but I see you asked for all steel? The best there, in my oh so humble opinion, is the CZ Compact. :)

CZs are good but if that's not compact enough there is also Kahr. Namely the K9 or the diminutive MK9. The T9 if you need a longer grip without much expense of concealabilty.

+1 for Cougar, Stoeger or original Beretta. I had 1 in 40. Shot very well. Same manual of arms as the 92/96 series.

+1 for S&W 3913
+1 for Stoeger Cougar

Also, S&W 669

I am looking for this type of gun as well...

I was going to suggest the Kahr line.

I had a MK9 which was (to me) just about the perfect combination of small size and decent weight for shooting.

Curiosity - you may want to shrink that picture a bit for those without the benefit of 30"+ monitors! :what:

All steel or just not polymer? The CZ-75D PCR and P-01 are alloy framed compacts. I prefer them for carry due to their lighter weight. However, as others have mentioned, CZ also makes fine all steel (steel frame and slide) Compact models.

The P7 is a great choice also.

Kahr MK9 9mm+p
6+1 rounds, or 7+1 rounds (depending on mag). Smooth "DAO" trigger with no other safety or levers besides slide release.

I also really really like the Sig p239, if you want a compact pistol that won't go in the pocket, but shoots and performs like a full size pistol. The 239 does this, the MK9 does not.

$400 or so, but IIRC you'll need to go to a gun show to find a good holster.

......

if i couldnt find a s@w 3913 ,or 3 digit 2nd generation i would say star firestar m43/40 in 9mm or .40,best bang for da buck.

Although it has a decocker, the SIG P239 would be my choice. It is DA/SA, exposed hammer, internal, no external safety and the decocker comes in handy when the shooting is over, no accidental discharge lowering the hammer on a compact firearm. And it shoots fantastic.

Kahr MK9.

Unfortunately, the P7/PSP or the P7M8 do NOT make a good pocket gun because of their weight. These pistols are extremely heavy for their size and will cause your pants or jacket pocket to sag and print. I've tried, but these pistols need to ride on a belt to carry properly.

Kahr K9 is a good choice if you can master the trigger.

CZ PCR is also a good choice for a "traditional" DA/SA.

Those are the only two I have extensive personal experience with, having owned both at one time or another.

ps. Forgot the Star BM, had one of those, too. Nice pistol, just a severe lack of spare parts and magazines.

buy the MK9, nothing smaller in all steel. top quality throughout. Great gun, All American made if that means anything, but just a super gun. If u want it's brother the litest of lite. buy the PM9, same size, just 14 ounces. Mine only has 18.700 flawless rounds through it. Nothing better for in the front pocket. All the guns mentioned above are great guns bu tonly one IMO will ride in ur front pocket and that is the MK9 or PM9.
