@9mmepiphany: The P9S looks like it has a M9-style safety. Do you like that safety or the more common P30/HK45 style safety?
Doesn't really make much difference, you just have to know how to take it off during the draw. BTW: If you define " more common" by the number of pistols with that type of thumb safety, the slide mounted one is more numerous
The P9S slide mounted safety is easier than the S&W Gen 3 safeties to disengage and requires just a hair more push than one on a Beretta M9...You just draw with a high thumb.
The cool thing about the P9S is that the hammer is internal. It is cocked and de-cocked via a lever. There was also a modification of a larger shelf welded onto the safety lever and canted slightly to make pushing it off faster in IPSC competitions
