What could cause someone to fire a gun at a construction site? Too much noise, according to Atlanta police.
They said a resident of a condominium high-rise in Buckhead got tired of the noise and fired a shot that hit one of the workers in the face.
The victim is a worker who was doing texture...he was putting stucco on the outside of a brand new high-rise. The shot hit him in the face, but fortunately he's going to be okay.
There aren't many places in the city of Atlanta one can live without being too far from a construction site. The Bradford on Peachtree condominiums are no different. Theres another high-rise being built right next door.
One would expect some noise, right?
"I live on this side," said condo resident Don White. "I'm here during the day; it's not that bad to me."
So what could have driven one of the residents to pull out a gun and shoot at the construction site? Too much noise according to police.
The victim has been transported to an area hospital," said Atlanta Police Officer James Polite. "At this time, we do believe that he is going to be okay; non-life threatening injuries."
The shot was fired from the balcony of a first floor condo. Police went to the door and arrested the resident. One construction worker said he saw a man on the balcony before the shooting -- and it was weird.
"Well I saw a guy on the balcony on the first floor balcony," said resident Larry Whiteman. "He came out and didn't have a shirt on and came out and was looking at everybody working."
Another worker said he saw him yesterday -- walking around with a gun in his belt.
"We didn't feel like he was dangerous, but he was acting weird," said construction worker Edgar Oregon. "He was just walking and looking at us."
Police arrested Navy veteran Alan Foucher, 30. He has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
