Well, you bought what you liked best.
Who cares what anyone else might think?
Revolvers aren't for everyone.
When it comes to that, it's probably fair to say that short-barreled, light weight DAO revolvers aren't even for all the folks who like revolvers.
If you can't safely, accurately and effectively use something under the duress, then it might also be fair to consider that it might not be a good handgun to own for the purpose of lawful self defense, either.
The Sig Sauer P232 is fine little blow-back .380 ACP pistol. I've known LE and non-LE (CCW) folks who used them well, were confident in their skills when using them and were thus well served by them.
I wouldn't choose one for my own needs ... and I can shoot diminutive DA/DAO revolvers fairly well ... none of which means that I would ever think a good quality .380 pistol, in the hands of someone who can safely and effectively use it, is a 'bad choice' for that person.
Thanks for sharing. Don't feel you have to justify your choice to anyone other than yourself.
I'm one of those folks who feel the knowledge of when it's lawful and appropriate to use deadly force in self defense is more important than the particular handgun someone may select that potential purpose.
