Appointment? That's garbage. I would try to get the appt much sooner next time if it's such a formal affair. Is a coat and tie mandatory too? I'd be out of luck.

i'd really like to say start a revolution with the goal of getting your state to secede from the "union" but I bet this isnt the place.

opencarry.org says you can OC in MO. Problem solved. Sorta.

I have been in court where someone caught CCing without a permit was given time by the Judge to obtain a permit before being convicted. Risky though.

Wow this took off since e last time I checked it.

To recall a few posts my permit is up on the 22nd of may so its not EXPIRED yet.

I do live in Greene County MO.

We do have a grave period. Is 30days and if you miss that your SOL and you start from the beginning again.

I have friends who were sent reminders about their ccw permit but I did not get one myself.

Buck460xvr I have been ccw 4yrs now and I have not needed to pull my weapon but just last week there was a shooting a block away from my house and I live just a few miles north of springfield and last month my fiance who is a loan officer had taken a loan from a gentleman and from what she described was putting off a very odd feeling only to be visited an hour later by what was believed a p.o. staying he is presumed armed and if he were to come back to lock the door and call the police (this lady also left her card for my fiance).
So things truly are getting worse around here.

I almost timed out on my renewal last year...

I think it's kind of BS that you need to make an appointment for a renewal.

My problem was getting into the local PD during office hours when the clerk was there to physically sign the permit... and then we had a mix up, where I thought she wa going to mail it to me, while the entire time, the permit was sitting in the dispatchers in-basket waiting for me to come pick up.

Getting upset doesn't help anything. Thes people deal with enough a$$ hOl@ already.

Take it as a lesson learned and re-up two months early next time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My ccw permit is abot to expire and the county I live in doesn't have an open appointment until June 11 where I will have to come pay my $50 for my new permit. So when I asked the clerk what will happen since my concealed cary permit will expire before then. She said I won't be able to conceal carry legally."
Personally I think this is bs that due to no fault of my own I won't be able to carry concealed for almost a month.
Crime has been getting real bad in my area within the last year is the only real reason I'm irritated about this.

I'm sure the founding fathers wanted appointments and permits when they addressed the RKBA .

This country is in the toilet as far as gun rights are concerned

Here in OK, there's a 30 day grace period... I went over that by a bit once. I couldn't carry while I waited, but I was able to renew online. Two weeks later, I had my new license. OK is rather forgiving like that. I was ready to retake the class, but the license has to be expired for a long time before they make you do that!

I completely disagree. In the past decade we've seen major court victories including Heller v DC and McDonald v Chicago which have restored firearms rights to huge numbers of US citizens. We've also seen legislation passed in many states strengthening our Second Amendment rights. Our rights were not removed overnight by previous legislation and previous court rulings, and they will not be restored overnight. If we remain vigilant and active we can slowly but surely continue the work already in progress of restoring our rights.
