I am turning 21 soon and have been saving up for a good CZ carry piece. I shoot CZs for IPSC and would like something that uses the same mags as my larger pistols (I'm a mag-compatability freak).

I've got it down to the PCR or the RAMI, both 9mm.

The RAMI will be much easier to pack around, but the PCR will be easier to shoot....

Can anyone give me size comparisons, shooting comparisons, etc with these pistols?

For me, I decided on the PCR as soon as I had it in my hand, it fit like a glove. The RAMI not so much like a glove but more of a small brick, but I am biased against sub-compact pistols. I was carrying a SIG P232 in .380, but felt undergunned, especially for shots over 10-15 yards. My PCR shoots as well as much longer barrel auto's, is reliable enough to bet your life on it and is sexy as a pistol can be.
Got to http://czusa.com to get sizes and weights. I compromised concealability for performance and capacity, what ever you decide you will have a pistol that will do the job. The CZ PCR is my first CZ handgun, it will most likely not be the last CZ. For inexpensive magazines for your CZ go to http://gregcotellc.com. I wish I could give you more input on the RAMI, but I only held it for about 15 sec, before snatching up the CZ PCR again.

I carry P01 and PCR concealed, easy to carry with good leather. Czech out Hazel Leather or HBE Specialty Leatherworks for a really good CZ rig. The RAMI fits my wife to a t, but not me so much. The Compact frame size, (Compact, PCR, P01, P06) fits me perfectly.

Definitely the PCR if going with belt/holster carry of any kind. But definitely the RAMI if going with fanny pack, smartcarry, or pocket carry. So the answer is, it depends completely on the mode you will be using to carry. When in doubt, I'd go PCR. It's also gonna be potentially more reliable than the little one.

A Baby Eagle? At 34 ounces it is heavy for a compact or a fullsize even. CZ reliability legendary and widely used, Jericho/Desert Eagle reliability is mythical and a niche gun not widely used by the professionals. Jericho looks nice may well be a fine pistol... but this thread is about Cz's not Charles Daly owned IWI.

OK, PCR then; preferably with those wood grips on there and a rubber covered magazine baseplate.

Just to add another part to Deer Hunter's request for myself:eek:...for the PCR, what's the preference for CCW: the SA/DA version or the DA/decocker version? I carry my CZ-85 on occasion cocked-n-locked, never had any issues. I also have a P-01, but it's a little blocky in the front for comfortable IWB carry. I have been considering the PCR, just not sure about which version.

I think the PCR is a near perfect 9mm compact pistol.

X2. I have carried one since 2000. Love it as both a CCW and range gun. Very accurate, reliable and easy to shoot well. I prefer it over my Sig P228 which has sat in the safe for years, and that says alot.

As a long time (6 years) RAMI lover that carries one every day.

I'll have to say that I'm very impressed with my wife's new PCR.

The RAMI is about as heavy and carries less rounds,
giving you smaller package with a shorter butt for concealment.

A PCR is equally as good a CZ with a slightly longer butt
that conceals quite well.

Some people don't fit well with the RAMI so the P-01/PCR option is there.

Know that RAMIs will not cycle the hotter +P or +P loads that the Compacts
eat like chili peppers.

The PCR seems to shoot like a laser, even with the cheesy glo-dot sites that
CZ still insists on providing.

I'm sure that with a set of tru-dot nites-it will be phenomenal for a Compact.

My RAMI (with Nites) seems equally as accurate until you get to 20-25 yards.

So, in closing. I'd say that both are equal with standard pressure ammo.

You should really buy one, then save for the other, but choose the
RAMI BD if you are new to DA/SA pistols.

Lowering the hammer on a loaded CZ is unnnerving to most people.

Best of luck with your purchase.

Thanks, for Thinkin CZ!

Just preaching to the choir. I own both and shoot both and have carried both. I have a lot of experience with the PCR and the RAMI. Having said that my preference would be the PCR hands down!

rami grips

i have a rami .40.I really like the gun but would like to extend the grip for better control.also don't like the sights.Deer Hunter has cool looking grips on his Rami.my question where do you go for purchasing the upgrades.

Thanks, no sweets and a doxie walk every evening that I can.
Boonie is losing to,, but still stubborn as can be.

I liked my CZ-75 so much I got a Rami decocker. My only criticism of it is that it is too thick to be a great carry gun. (in my never humble opinion) It's a great piece of machining, but I'd carry a Kahr PM-9 before the Rami. Based only on size, not quality.

If I were designing the Rami, I'd have made the slide release a little longer. However, the night sights are first class, I like the decocker, and the Rami has never failed to fire.

Most all Europeans don't use the slide release.
The sling-shot method is taught over there.
