Yesterday got done cleaning my Savage Desert Tactical 6.5 CM, stumbled on a mat and dropped the rifle. Damaged the elevation turret on my Vortex Viper PST Gen ll. Already on the way back to Vortex.
No, just not as graceful as I was in my younger days. I try to stay off of ladders nowadays. Use to make my living on them and telephone poles. Donāt go Duck hunting by myself anymore either. Tough getting old!!Definitely unfortunate, but hereās a question for vortex owners; Are you less careful of accidents knowing you have that warranty or the same as if you had a super expensive scope without the blanket warranty ?
Curious.
It's not fun to send something back. I've got three different diamond backs but haven't bashed a scope. Just me being honest, with a Nightforce I find that Iām always extra intent while handing the rifle.
At $2000 each , Iām pretty careful not to abuse.I've thrown a bunch of those into barrels at 3 gun matches, I put them pretty high on my list of "durable".
NF doesnāt warranty self inflicted as does Vortex, sure theyāll fix it but you may have to write a check for at least a part of the cost.
Yes weāve seen that before , how well it worked is anyoneās guess but thatās not to say theyāll replace it free as does Vortex. This NF was hit by a X39 round, kept working until it's replacement came.

What do you think about it.I wasnāt meaning to derail a thread, but this is the original question.
Thats a bummer! It does happen tho, I dropped one of my guns on my Midas BTR taking it out of the safe and killed it, fell on a Nikon a while back and crunched it too.Yesterday got done cleaning my Savage Desert Tactical 6.5 CM, stumbled on a mat and dropped the rifle. I think itās bit of a derail but thats how threads go sometimes, they just evolve into something else. This one wasnāt about how tough Nightforce scopes are. What do you think about it.
