I've wanted to ask this for a while, but I just saw another ridiculous revolver video on youtube and I thought it finally time to ask:

Most of us have probably seen some impressive Miculek youtube videos, but are there any others on youtube that actually show some good revolver shooting? When I look, there seem to be some semi-auto videos that show good technique and are actually educational. What gives with revolver videos, though? They all seem, well, childish, to be kind. Mostly pure machismo, blasting away with a .44magnum, barely able to hit their "target". As far as DA revolver technique, they're always shot in SA mode or the DA trigger is staged. Does anyone know of any on-line videos that actually demonstrate good DA and/or SA (less interested in CAS) revolver technique or are otherwise useful? I'm always interested in seeing if I can learn anything new from all kinds of different sources, but youtube has been a bust so far. I'm also curious why there are so few good revolver videos posted.

Here's (parts) of a video of me shooting my revolver in an IDPA practice match a short while back. Sorry, it's an incomplete and chopped up video, and there's not much to learn from what you see, but I figured someone needed to start with something to get this worthwhile thread going!

Jlaw - thanks much. Nice vid. Thanks for posting.

I agree, this could be a useful thread, and I've found 2 others so far, though it hasn't been for lack of searching. I thought these 2 were "decent" simply because they didn't shoot in SA (2nd is DAO), have a decent grip, and take controlled shots. Ironically, the first shooter looks to be about 8 years old!

Any others? Let's see 'em!

Seems there's a glut of good revolver vids out there. Maybe some of our resident gunsmiths (cough cough...Grant Cunningham...cough cough...Matt Almeda...cough cough) or expert shooters will read this and see a new and additional opportunity to teach revolver shooters something (and get in a little shameless self-promotion)? Maybe something akin to this:
