I'd had reservations about joining the NRA, mainly because while I agree with some of their philosophies and with the fact they are a huge lobby for gun rights, there are some things I disagree on them with. I was considering joining in the near future, until I get a letter from them.
Amongst a stack of bills and junk mail is a letter from the NRA with "FINAL NOTICE" stamped in red letters on the envelope. I'm trying to think why they're sending me a final notice - did I somehow get signed up for membership through a purchase where I accidentally checked or didn't uncheck a box? Are they after some sort of dues now because I haven't made good on the promise I accidentally made?
When I open up the letter, it says the reason the envelope was stamped "final notice" is because if I don't join and send them money now, my gun rights might be lost forever, and by then it will be too late to join. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to pander to fearmongering. This might come out as a rant, but it's partly to let people know that the NRA is willing to make you think you're receiving a priority bill just to ask for donations.
