What is the general quality of this rifle for reliability?, do any AR shooters have any input? Its in the M4 configuration and sold thru Atlantic Firearms which I believe is a wholesaler. I,m used to what the army uses as I,m still in the service but am thinking on a civilian model for my own use. Just need to know about the quality, is that a less then reliable brand or not. Not into all the bells and whistles you can attach, just a good shooter I can depend on.

I have an ar mid length rifle that I built with a del-ton kit. Runs great and looks good too. Aim surplus also sells del-ton rifles. They sell the same rifle you were looking at for $120 less minus the carry handle. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Del-Ton_DTI-15_5.56_Carbine.html You could also buy a lower receiver and a kit and just put it together. You can order the kits directly from del-ton and they are pretty easy to assemble. Mark

I have a 20" upper that has not failed yet with anything I put through it. Great company to deal with.

I bought one last week. I looked it over pretty good before I shot it. Ran 80 rounds through it with no problems at all. Ready to shoot some more. I like the easy load mags that come with it. Give it a shot.

Thanks for the input, I,ll have to look into Delton abit more now and check AIM on their deals, I,ve bought C&R from them before and they are a good company to deal with. I have a case of 100 30 round mags stashed away for just the purpose of someday getting an AR type rifle.

No matter who you buy it from the Del ton rifles are a great unit , we have sold several to Police Depts and they came back for more.

Del-Ton are good people. I see them at every Raleigh gun show and have bought lots of things from them. They've always been great.

you can buy an upper/parts kit. when filling it out, you can add a few customizations, such as detachable carry handle for flat-top models, different triggers, chargers, barrels and front grip/tubes, etc. The first thing on the list is the barrel type, which you can upgrade to chromed for about 50 bucks.

edit: Bed beat me to it
