desert eagle serial year.

I found a .357 Desert Eagle with a 4 digit serial. The serial is 44xx I don't know what year or model this one is, can anyone help?

Probably around 1983-85 time period, first produced by Saco Defense, then IMI (Israeli Military Industries)....that's when the Mark VII's were first introduced.
